Marc Aurel, 20 Jan 2014Actually, most people will probably need a microscope, since the difference between 720p and 1... moreMy friend has a Nexus 4, and I have a galaxy S4, and we both went to the desktop version of ncix.com, and we were looking and zoomed out fully, the text is noticeably easier to read on the S4 screen; very nice and smooth on the S4, and still easy to read, but pervievable amounts of pixels on letters starting to bunch together a tad, so 720p to 1080p is a very small, but slightly noticeable difference. From 1080p to 1440p however, the difference simply will not exist.
A lot of people dissing HTC. Let me just say that this is all unconfirmed and IF these specs do come on the landed handset yes it's a bit disappointing UNLESS they price it right. If it's $500 then it's an impulse buy for me.
But who am I kidding?
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2014Right, don't know why some are asking for 2k or higher resolution. Can their eyes see the diff... moreHahaha. Well said. Infact eye cant differentiate between 16 million colors!!!!
if HTC would shift to virtual buttons like on the Nexus line of devices and others!! that's will be the Worst decision ever htc takes
That's another turn off from HTC , nah I changed my mind, I'm going for the SGS5 or Xperia z2 or maybe LG G3, let's see their offerings first. HTC was only rescued by releasing the HTC One earlier then all the others and the nice design, but this time they are all coming with much better specs, design and nearly same timing, (HTC it won't work again)
The more resolution the better picture quality, it's that easy. Before 1080p screens came out people were saying it's overkill, you can't see difference, and they were all mistaken, these days everyone wants higher res, so if there's a 2K screen I will go for that one and I'm sure you can see the difference. Period stupid HTC they really don't have a clue how to keep up with competition, they all gonna come out with snapdragon 805, 2K screens, at least 13 Mpx camera now compare HTC snapdragon 800, 1K screen & measly twin 4 Mpx camera (Don't get me wrong, these are truly good specs but for top of range, it won't be enough in 2014 to beat the others in terms of sales & popularity)
I like how lots of users are asking for 2k resolution on a 5 inch display even though they are having 1080p on a 50 inch TV, whats the point of having 2k when your naked eye won't make difference between 720 and 1080?
AnonD-103106, 20 Jan 20141920*1080 is good for battery comsumption...if >3000 mah battery, back fingerprint sensor, ... moreRight, don't know why some are asking for 2k or higher resolution. Can their eyes see the difference? Or just want to show off ?
I would rather a phone with 1080p and awesome battery life than 2k and good battery life.... hopefully there is some common sense on this as 350-450ppi is great.
[deleted post]PPI doesn't mean everything. The higher the resolution, the more the PPI. But at the same time, the bigger the display, the lower the PPI.
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2014If what's purported turns out to be true, this phone will be dead on arrival.Until the reviews show battery life to be spectacular.
AnonD-43136, 20 Jan 2014Sounds like the name of a condom lol!Haaaaaaahaha dude :)
1920*1080 is good for battery comsumption...if >3000 mah battery, back fingerprint sensor, dual 8 upixel camera, 5 inches will be available, i may consider to replace my htc one by htc two
[deleted post]I can't believe you have written so much nonsense> I mean a lot! Read every single review there is little difference between 720 and 1080. With current HTC ONE PPI density you are on the top of the hill. But if you want to tell your friends how cool you are wtih 2K of you go MR microscope. Brainwashed.
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2014Good news is that it's gonna have 1080p display instead of battery guzzling marketing gimmick ... moreRemeber this my friend! When HTC,2 months earlier than any other brand, released first worlds phone with 1080p screen, reaction of people were absolutely the same. Aboslutely. But there were people like me, who enjoyed this upgrade, and took it as a ascended screen level. 2k resolution is also another amazing level.
It look awesome if its real. No logo or hard button. It has a clean minimal look.
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2014Dead on arrival? Do you even know the differences between Sense and say Touchwiz for example, ... moreThe only point HTC has against is its pricing. When they charge way too high, people do look at specs. Why wouldn't they? How do you convince the potential buyers of high price, with inferior specs, same OS (android) when the competition is very high (Samsung, Sony, LG)? Which is why some of the people think this is dead on arrival, which to me looks a fair comment. Yes, software should be optimized, but it is still android and kitkat is marketed as optimized OS. How efficiently HTC can convince end users about the difference between Touchwiz and Sense though both phones will run android kitkat?
Personally I think it's the best thing they could do. They should be able to deliver better performance and battery life than competitors with QHD screens. The problem is I don't think HTC will get to pull it off. I hope I am wronge but atm only apple can get away with not having the top specs in their phones.
