Ali, 22 Jan 2014Well guys I am deeply sad that some of you are having problems. I had a S2/S3 & S4 with th... moreS4 is getting slow updates? S3 getting KK faster or on par than most of 2013 flagships is bad? Of course Nexus has faster updates. Even GPE S4 already has kk. It's a much more simple update all around.
And you have to wait on carriers for all other devices too.
At least Samsung is trying a lot more than most.

CJS, 22 Jan 2014Sorry but other than flagship models, Samsung support for older handsets its absolutely abysma... moreFlash support is perfectly fine. And it is not hacked to download and istall it. Adobe has even updated it from the time official support stopped. It has been updated til even just a couple months ago. And there are oceans of browsers that support it. Just the standard Android one generally does not in newest builds.

And at least Samsung is updating even older phones faster or to the same speed that most are still attempting to update recent devices. Yes the update originally was flawed...but they recalled it and fixed....And if you think every other company has not had buggy updates and releases you are a fool or a troll.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2014First the S3 has 2 Gigs or Ram, and KitKat is supposed to be able to run on devices with 512 M... moreTo your knowledge, Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III has 1 GB RAM, not 2 GB RAM. Google has made Android 4.4 KitKat for low end phones having 512 MB RAM and has claimed that it will run smooth, so Galaxy S III can easily handle KitKat.

Android 4.4.2/4.4 is best optimized OS of Android, to work with the Ram as Low as 512MB, so even Many Mid range handsets likely to receive Kitkat updates from their Manufacturers/Careers,S3/S4,Note3/4 are getting Kitkat now, Here is the link for more Kitkat info

LOL I just updated my S3 to 4.3 from 4.1.2 YESTERDAY and now in March 4.4.2? WOW.... but isn't 4.4.2 too much for S3??? Can this phone handle KitKat?!?

I mean the CPU is really powerful and it can definitely handle it but what about its tiny 1GB RAM?!? I think KitKat needs at least 1.5GB RAM to work fluently without any lags...

Arbie, 22 Jan 2014In cell phone repair shops...80% are Samsung handsets...I wonder why?Reason is because the majority of smartphones on the Android side are Samsungs, so of course the percentage of funky Android handsets will be Samsungs, have you ever thought of that, lol.

narendra pd singh, 22 Jan 2014why nat update galaxy s2 ??? Because it's an old phone, you can not be serious. It is not only up to the manufacturer but the carrier that services the phone, and I am sure the carriers are not going to do that, makes no sense for them, heck we have the S5 right around the corner, and you want them to keep updating a three plus year old phone, I suggest time for an upgrade, lol.
