Anonymous, 05 Feb 2014F*** you Sony. VERY surprised Sony isn't updating the Xperia S to at least jelly bean 4.1!obviously you don't have xperia s, I got 4.2.2 update last year.
You are just a samsung fan!
cheebc, 05 Feb 2014for all of u who criticize Sony I'd like to ask u, how many phone from Samsung, HTC, LG, Lenov... moreS3, S3 mini, and budget phones will have kitkat at the same time or before most 2013 devices get kitkat. So yeah.. That's Samung alone. And those devices are already on 4.3 while others are at most on 4.2 if you are lucky. So try again?
Anonymous, 05 Feb 2014I still have the xperia s and i don't care about the updates. As long as i enjoying it!Forget about updates. My 13 month old Xperia go started malfunctioning and I took it to the nearest Xperia service centre.I am told that no service is available beyond warranty period. Now,what am I to do with this phone. Sony please tell me.
please update for xperia V, XV and XSP only slight difference 0,2ghz even higher XV in camera 13mpx and waterproof ablity means XV is designed high-end phone. Kitkat is designed for low-end phone even less than 512mb ram. I won't complain if XV not receive kitkat then XSP not also, it's really unfair
how about xperia E/ Dual? it is a 2013 phone, it should be eligible for upgrades. Sony please clear this up
F*** you Sony. VERY surprised Sony isn't updating the Xperia S to at least jelly bean 4.1!
please, am in africa and yet to get the 4.3 upgrade for xperia T...pls how much longer can i wait????
EdB, 04 Feb 20142014 JUST started. They're ending support for phones purchased only 14 months ago. That's no w... moreoi ed...perhaps you should look at the HTC progress chart for firmware updating. everything has to get qc'd and checked to see if it will run well on the oem layout before being pushed to network vendors, and then tested again with their bloatware, and if the hardware cant support the new system, then it gets stopped. hence forth end of life, and the reason why technology travels around the world five times before the sun has had time to put his shoes on
Here is my opinion.
As long as a smartphone, no matter it is a flagship or not, has enough specs to deal with a major update, why would it not have it? An update is supposed, among others, to improve the security of a device, right? So if it does not have the possibility to be updated, this means the smartphone is prone to any malware, right?
Otherwise, if the manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony and so on do not allow them on old flagships while there are lower spec devices which are supported, it is sad and deceiving for thier customers, who go for other brands, or even other platforms. Still, if people are geeky enough, they can flash their smartphones to Cyanogenmod, but at the risk for them of being bricked :/ .
I really love Sony but of they want tonbe considered as "premium" they really should give longer support.
for all of u who criticize Sony I'd like to ask u, how many phone from Samsung, HTC, LG, Lenovo, or even Moto(Google) from 2012 will be upgraded to kitkat? 4 devices from Sony 2012 get update to kitkat, how many from other OEMs?
ARNAB, 05 Feb 2014sony is the worst mobile company in the world its phones dont get updates because sony corpor... moreLOL only 4 phone were left on ICS, all the rest reached JB. While T TX and V will get Kitkat-those were the 2012 flagships.
No OEM has done that.
not bad for those midrangers. but the upper range devices should receive final update this 2014, especially if they are still the 18-months period. Sony does better though when it comes to range of units they are updating. Other companies out there only updates their flagships.
Now, I want swap my Acro s to Z1C. But my problem is how do I backup my game data to another phone is. Thank you for any guide to do this.
sony is the worst mobile company in the world its phones dont get updates because sony corporation wants us to buy new phones every year just like apple does
