Anonymous, 07 Feb 2014Snapdragon 800? Last year's processor? Major fail here.As said before the 8o5 is not ready until after summer...for now it's s8oo 8974ac/ac 2.5ghz which has been out couple of months now
That 480dpi density at 1920x1080 resolution works out to a 4.6" screen, which is unlikely to be the S5 screen size. Maybe it's a midrange phone?
(5.0" @1080p is 441ppi)
geordie81, 07 Feb 2014its not needed at all but lots of other companies are already building QHD displays, so why wo... moreIt's marketing. To say 2k, is to say it's not 4k; where 4k is the current best, a 2k device would be outdated tech. QHD is the fresh term for better mobile device screens.
Htc m8 beat gs5 this year i am sure
2GB ram?
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2014Q3 at least So is that mean both galaxy s5 and xperia z2 gonna be all like snapdragon 800?if that true, that 's totally suck.:'(
AnonD-231324, 07 Feb 2014Its's strange, it can't be the S4 nor the S5 because it misses the Ambient Temperature and Rel... moreIt says in the article sensors are missing.
480 ppi on 1080 by 1920 translates to screen size of 4.59 inch device. This is definitely not GS5
antonioli, 07 Feb 2014Something is starnge. 480ppi? Galaxy S4 with 5" is 441ppi.Well! 480 dpi differs than 480 ppi!
(DPI-> Dots Per Inch)(PPI-> Pixel Per Inch)
This isn't galaxy s5 no qhd screen, only 2 gb ram...it may be s5 mini or probably s5 zoom...or it's a prototype or another samsung model
EvilMonkey, 07 Feb 20141080p only? LOL! What a fail! So outdated, already ancient! Maybe you guys don't care but if I... moreSo your saying that retina display is only good enough for your eyes? But i can probably guess that when at home you will be watching a HD display TV wont you?
Its's strange, it can't be the S4 nor the S5 because it misses the Ambient Temperature and Relative Humidity Sensors. The S4 definitely has both of them.

Something is starnge. 480ppi? Galaxy S4 with 5" is 441ppi.
2GB RAM , absolutetly fake !!!
LOVING MY S3!. two years later its finally time for s5 to be honest s4 was a waste of time it was out classed in just a few months by lg and sony not to mention other manufactures with more superior hardware And no other flag ships had more versions then s4 why? coz it was inferior. now for S5 if it comes out with snapdragon 800 its game over! what happened to 805 ? and gpu wat happened to 440 ? if sammy dont pump that into its latest flagship then it will once again be out done especially when Nvida K1 hits the mobile world .
doesn't look that so powerful phone!
still using same chip S 800... not bad thou!
sammy should focus more on design and build quality! lol
AnonD-231284, 07 Feb 2014You are indeed correct but a few don't add up, these are the sensors, mine shows all 'support'... moreEither that OR we might be seeing the S5 mini coming at the same time as the real deal S5. This is the most likely option now imho.
Thanks for the reply anyway,
Simon
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2014805 is not ready!Yeah, I know. I wrote that in jest. If only you'd bothered to read WHAT I was responding to...
geordie81, 07 Feb 2014its not needed at all but lots of other companies are already building QHD displays, so why wo... moreYes, you are right about that this is a competition and if you don't want to be left behind, you must adapt the latest technology, even if it's just (a really expensive) sales pitch. Maybe Samsung will even deliver the new screens to their rivals and I wouldn't be suprised to see 4K mobile displays later this year but it won't make these way too high resolutions any more useful.
I've read about a calculation on some A/V forum about how far you should sit from a 55" UHD TV to actually see any difference between that and a FHD TV of the same size (given there's proper 4K content to watch). And the result was that you have to sit much closer than anyone would normally watch TV.
By the way I was only trying to be sarcastic about the naming conventions when mentioning QHD. qHD is quarter HD indeed. I saw the ad of low-end smartphone not so long ago and all of its features were written in capital letters (QHD SCREEN). I was like wow, such high resolution for a cheap phone, it's gonna be great - then I realized, it's not what they meant. :)
