what are you on about. as a phone its great, although i prefer real buttons to dial, and as a text phone its fanatastic because of the copy and paste etc...
oh and as for updates, the software can be updated via the samsung website. ive already done it once since sept, where new features were added. i will wait to see if this latest version has bugs, but it is meant to be available to upgrade older phones.

But still Omnia remains a toy not a phone. My old Omnia lays in a box ready for sell. It's good for kids who watches movies or listen to music, it's not good for people who uses it as a normal phone for calling and text messaging...

A see some good updates here. Question though, on our iphone, we get firmware updates so that we can avail software improvements, not release a new phone. Will buyers of the first Omnia get software updates found on this new Omnia as well? Just curious =)

Samsung are doing it for this year.I don't see nokia anywhere near samsung.Because samsung are actualy ahead of nokia in terms of touchscreen,music & camera & beating iphone in specs.

what a nice mobile and give it new flavour by Samsung.but no major farmware change(except SecureRed application) by Samsung as we seen in Nokia E71.at least they attatch a shutter for the device.Any way SecureRed application,TV-out cable & new colour definitely satisfy the samsung fans.

And here I'm getting all excited that they were going to upgrade the spec too. I won't mind buying this if I didn't already have the omnia. I actually really like the purple color scheme.

When i first saw this phone it was Hong kong.I didnt delay in buying i love the features compared to the iphone
