Will it work in Sri Lanka.
I support open source freedom till death. But if I'm paying for top end hardware, the phone had better let me boot the latest KitKat if I wanted to.
As a South African, I have to own one of these. Mark is a true inspiration.

As I never tried W8.1, I cannot tell anything about it. Still, I must acknowledge I am quite enjoying WP8. One (at least me) can do a lot on it, more than what some people could expect, though I need to find some tricks to get some things done.
That is a pretty good new. Too bad for me I had to buy a smartphone before they could launch any. I will have to wait for my device to let down.
Well, I just hope now Canonical and their partners will deliver real pico PCs at decent prices, and not just smart equivalents to Java phones. It would really be a change from what we consumers have seen, because, then, one can able, disable or even add repositories, like in all the *buntus and all the real GNU Linux desktops. Sideloading is Ok, but only when one knows it is safe. PPAs are like side loading, but much safer than in Android, so I think it will release much more power than the little green robot.
By the way, some day, will we see STEAM and other firms in smartphones, and could at last play real games instead of the current ones, which are actually colorfull mind games (candy crush saga and angry birds, anyone?).

AnonD-213683, 19 Feb 2014I hate those phones with embedded batteries... :(why? How many times have you changed batteries on a phone that you have owned? How many people around do you think carry a spare battery in their pockets?
