Canis, 12 Feb 2009I think you folks have a number of things wrong in this article: 1) The phones you refer to... moreIt is obvious. I used to respect the reports in this website but this whole article is BS. Thank f**k someone else has realised they are n97 prototypes too.
Anyone writing an article about these two "leaked" Nokia phones if one of two things:
1. Stupid, 2+2=5
2. Trying to make a story out of nothing like tabloid newspaper scum.
Now I'll explain why. All of these stories originate from two sources. Firstly, a video provided by Nokia where their chief designer is talking about the design processes which led to the final n97 design. And secondly, a list of upcoming Nokia phones which leaked last year. So, here are my concluding points:
1. Would Nokia be stupid enough to leak images of their upcoming handsets when they want you to go and buy an n97 or 5800? I don't think so.
2. Anybody looking at the video impartially would come to the realise that these are just n97 concepts with different button, screen and hinge configurations. The various concepts for the n97 rear casing is even on the same table as the "leaked" phones.
3. The specification for the high-end phone is identical to the n97. Would Nokia realise two phones with identical specifications and near identical designs? Noooooooooooooooooo.
i love nokia!
OhMyGod, 13 Feb 2009Most people don't care about dual sim... Nokia doesn't want to upset carriers/networks by prod... moreI agree with you, too many whiners and can't seem to make everyone happy. It's thier loss if they want nitpick and complain at everything, pessimists like them will always have something to complain about but they're alwats proven wrong.
Most people don't care about dual sim... Nokia doesn't want to upset carriers/networks by producing dual sim phones. Many Nokia handsets are heavily subsidised around the world.
It's whether you want a FREE/heavily subsidised phone with your contract or pay full price for the handset. You can't have both!
I'm glad those who want dual sim, move elsewhere and stop whining like a girl.
clap your hands everbody.
no release yet already got a bunch of hater
i think nokia is stil the phone trent setter,so exspect more very soon i like the new nokia
Harish Kumar Goyal,, 13 Feb 2009Nokia is Nokia..but do not understand that why Nokia is not launching some smartphone like N97... moreBecause there were a limitation in Symbian OS that prevent Nokia to make a dual simcard phone.
In order to make Symbian OS to manage dual sim card, the OS need to be tweaked at the very coreOS. and nokia need time & money to do that.
Because of Dual SIM i have moved to Samsung
Nokia is Nokia..but do not understand that why Nokia is not launching some smartphone like N97 with dual sim cards. Almost every business traveler carries two phones. Carrying two phones is really very difficult and leaving Nokia and using other dual sim phone Samsung is more difficult.
Exciting looking phones indeed! Hope these show up at MWC. Although I wonder if these aren't early prototypes of what is finally the finished design of the N97. Would Nokia be so careless as to inadvertently leak unannounced phones??!!
nokia is totally a copy-cat.hahaha .touchscreen Symbian OS 9.5. why would they do all those touchscreen, iphone thingy.
Nothing special.
Ugly UI as it always, just with bigger touch screen.
Dont look even look promising. 5800 with modified appearence.
Madalines key board looks very very crammed... hope it is not the new communicator
1) What about dual sim
2) I hope they will have a common cross platform/ company agnostic charger
3) No stylus.... why
guys, its all abt marketing. nothing is the best. m a fan of nokia; i noticed that most of the time, samsung was always the one who came up the new technology but they seem to use it in a strange way. its weird that they use their phone OS with the new technology. i think if they integrate those technology into a popular OS they would kill nokia. For the popular OS i mean programs can be installed easily. and besides nokia, the interface seems to be very hard to use.No offense.
this is what i think abt phones..
SAMSUNG: nice design, bad programs, their logo look too big
O2: too thick, bad screen
SE: nice design, boring program(they should know that their phone is goddamn slow)
iphone: great screen, boring softwares
Nokia: you got a hold of model to choose from. they seems to make designs for every1.
The Rev, 13 Feb 2009Awesome phone. I can call it the ultimate Iphone crusher! I'm a big fan of Nokia and I've alwa... moreThe ultimate iPhone crasher?? HAHAHAHAH
How many times have we read something like this? Nokia phones fail. Nokia was good, but now is just a pathetic cry far behind of Samsung.
iPhone crasher my ass! With cheap plastic, with lagging slow UI, with useless camera….
N97 is going to be the same useless crap like N96.
Nokia is going down!
looks like nokia is copying SE again.
its just a dodgy version of the xperia x1
