Great - It wont take long for the criminals to lift your finger prints from the wonderfully secure android device.

Very bad move, but not surprising. They can always blame everyone else if anything goes wrong.

Anonymous, 01 Mar 2014sure, everybody wants to scan there fingerprint into an un-verified app on open source platfou... moreA seemingly well intended idea but poorly thought through. There are already so many malicious apps out there and it's already difficult enough keeping your biometric information to yourself without cowboys getting in on the act. I hope Google reconsider this idea.

Surely the fingerprint scanner is awesome for security and for third-party apps.
But, the true destination of that, will depend on how manufacturers will improve on and on...
Specially Samsung and Apple, the giants will dipute face to face all the time.
I specialy like this.

Apple didn't include all apps using this feature for a reason.

Secondly there is no person who could look at the finger print scanner and not instantly be disappointed with Samsung copying again..

I mean finger print scanner was first on apple on a modern phone. Samsung even releasing a gold version is just disgraceful!! That's why they always so cheap. And that's REAL market demand.

AnonD-185791, 27 Feb 2014haha.. Apple with fingerprint capability is a fool and only fools would buy that phone.. imagi... moreYou know what use my fingerprints have other than unlocking phones? Leaving smudges over smooth surfaces. Crap with the NSA or what not stealing my fingerprint, unless they gonna pick their nose with it haha!

Seriously, that privacy thing that everyone is afraid; I'm beginning think I'm in a site with lots of people who likes anything illegal.

But letting 3rd party apps use my print? It's like saying hello hackers! Come on steal my personal info!
