bruce wayne, 03 Mar 2014This is madness, how could this piece of s**t win design award??? No normal human can operate ... moreYeah, I agree with "too big" and "ergonomically" fits in one sentence. but we have to give plus 1 for flexibility.
People can ask for what they not know they may like or use. That's the role of inventors. We as users may not like an invention, that's the role of innovators, to create an ecosystems where an invention makes sense and create value. Finally to get those innovations and turn them into businesses is the role of entrepreneurs. Users are the final judges of all.
Design is good and nice looking, much better then samsung's flex.
However limiting screen / expansion.
Anonymous, 03 Mar 2014Is this real tech-geek-site? Or "Design magazine" for hairdressers and housewives??... moreGsmarena was presenting the NEWS about one of the most impressive smartphones and one of the reasons of this effect is its design.
this design is not perfected
but its a step in the direction we want to go
Flexible battery and screen (3500mah might i add)
i dont want to have to worry about dropping my phone and components breaking dislodging so on so forth
i want to replace my phone when i feel the right phone for me has come out, durability is a big factor for alot of people (this phone does break but as i said its a step in the right direction)
2014 i have high hopes for you
Joaolula, 03 Mar 2014This kind of phones should be called curved not flex. Why??????????????????
immu, 03 Mar 2014LG is now most innovative leading company..correct
Unusual design but hopefully the software on the phone will be reliable as LG does not have a very good track record with this. A friend has LG 4X HD P880 Quad Core Phone and LG L5II and both have software issues. When they have problems LG should fix them not leave phones crippled.
The phone is excellent except for the screen resolution and camera . I returned it for the Samsung Galaxy Mega which is about $200 cheaper , has a better screen , camera and is a lot faster then its specs would let on. Would of kept the Flex if the pricing was better, but in my opinion its priced to high.
This is madness, how could this piece of s**t win design award??? No normal human can operate this phone with one hand because its fu****g big. This has nothing to do with human ergonomy!!!

But there are reasons like these why LG is still behind from what they expect. As we see here is one of the example what both the companies built the product with same innovation but different practical opinions. As GalaxyRound will be comfortable in pockets than the G Flex.because i dont think that how long will that so-called flexibility in GFlex can take in the daily use of bending in pockets. The vertical and horizontal curve which changes the competition here. In same way there are few other ways why samsung is on top.
The Nexus years ago had a curved screen.
I would be worried with this curve and you place in your pocket vertical would in uncomfortable. Also easy to break without flat surface pressed on flat surface.
Also phone holders in cars wouldn't sit too well.
Ascorth, 03 Mar 2014Another design award... LG always have beautiful design.. Since the first time i saw LG cho... moreI will give you that LG designs are good, Sonys designs are good but too big and Apples are just plain boring!! No imagination in their design or creativity. The best looking phone in my opinion is the Huawei P6.....but proof that looks is nothing without performance.
Why are phone company keep making phone with features no one ask for and will not use？
all I need is durability ，look and feel of something that deserve the $600+ price tag and battery that can last longer than 3 days.
