For those X1 users, like me, Yes, windows 6.5.
Someone has already flashed a beta version of 6.5 onto there x1.

Based on what is shown, it doesn't look like a full upgrade of 6.1. More like a revamp. More like SP2 for Windows XP. But the upgrades do have much more eye-candy. Both of which suggests slighlty higher minimum specs. If the HTC model is released (note released not purchased) in the last 6 months then should be possible. Assuming its a mid to high spec device.

Which by the way, I haven't seen the latest S60 being backward compatible with say an 18 month old N series... So yes definitely much backward compatible. Also I don't see FP3 being backward released for some quite new models. Yes so definitely Nokia doing a great job there. This is supposed to be a significant upgrade. I't like saying I have a PC that runs on XP on min spec not I want to run Vista. Anyway to me its fine since WM6.5 isn't hitting the shelves until 3Q2009 earliest. Which means more time to save up.

I like the home screen with a wallpaper at the backround just like in non-OS phones like S40, etc., unlike on Symbian S60 the wallpaper doesn't fit the whole screen and it's kinda awkward for me. Microsoft should allow for upgrades on all phones to their new OS free just like the other OSs. Nice upgrade and the appz store & online sync are just like an icing on the cake.
