Yeah ive had Nokias all my life but what phone can i get thats better and not a f##king touch screen. I hate them

The SE Idou providing it lives up to it's 12MP and xenon flash will be on top providing it is released before Samsung release their 12MP.
nokia - do a proper n82 successor with xenon flash, stop messing around - i may end up getting a sony ericsson and stick a nokia ringtone on it
Schattenwand, 16 Feb 2009Damn Nokia, whats wrong with you! You spew out 3294 phones with the same outdated OS and keep ... morecopy the iphone sms system?? you crazy? the iphone cant even forward an sms!
Its just like N85 with 8 megapixel although the camera could be the best on the market. If this is the Corolla- a 3 inch screen was expected on the leaked roadmap but its a letdown.
Compared to the Samsung i8510:
*It's Nokia so you can run Nokia S60 apps (Nokia Maps, SportsTracker etc.)
*Flash is 'probably' better than the dual LED flash the i8510 has but xenon would have been better
*Camera-wise the varying aperture setting seems interesting but not being able to manually change it makes it not as useful - I also can't seem to see how much of a difference this would make.
*Smaller screen (0.2" probably won't make much difference though)
*I can't vouch for it as I haven't had a Nokia before but i've heard Samsung phones usually have better build quality than Nokia
*Camera-wise the spec sheet says up to 1/1000 shutter speeds, the i8510 has managed 1/4000 outside for me, the focal length is 5.70mm on the i8510 while 'only' 4.61mm on the N86. You also have to open the lens cover manually instead of the automatic lens cover on the i8510.
*8GB internal storage instead of 16GB on the i8510.
*Same design as the N85, not very attractive.
Coming from an i8510 owner, also there's no indication that the lens quality on the N86 is any better than the i8510.
DanT, 16 Feb 2009Before saying bad things about the phone look at the camera specs: wide 28 mm equivalent lens ... moreDude nokia is well known to have the crappiest camera's on mobile phones. SE/Samsung camera's are the best. Those numbers mean nothing about real performance.
We all know about Nokia false battery life/talktime etc..
NokiA, 16 Feb 2009Phenomenal... i think i must go with it... it looks crazy and Nokia is the BEST.. Im ashamed im still a nokia user. The 1st 8 mp of their product is just using led flash? Please... I rather buy SE Idou. 12mp with xenon and have the same s60 v5 like N97. Nokia sucks. Im leaving nokia forever.
that's one ugly, girly looking phone
Damn Nokia, whats wrong with you! You spew out 3294 phones with the same outdated OS and keep filling it with proprietary Nokia Software which is inferior, slow, half finished and user unfriendly as ***** and now your hardware is ***** too? way to go! Also: start focusing on contact management, sms(!!!), perhaps NokiaMaps (which is already loosing to googleMaps). Your sms system is bad and outdated, please just copy the Iphone system and what's wrong with your hatred of Xenon? ahh...
I am a Nokia Fan.
Maybe the number one worldwide..
One question Nokia:
Why don't You try the N97's same path or style?
That would be really great and awesome..
I'm still thinking about buying the N97..
Before saying bad things about the phone look at the camera specs: wide 28 mm equivalent lens (quite rare on phones), variable aperture (f/2.4-f/4.8), mechanical shutter (1/1000), 3rd generation dual led which covers up to 3.5 meters. And of course 8 MP. Looks like one of the best cameras on a phone. And the new Nokia phones like E55 seem to have a 600 mhz processor instead of the 369 mhz. So a complex camera, faster processor + all the already standard features on smartphones (3G/HSDPA, Wi-fi, microSD, GPS) ... might be enough already for a great phone. I mean I am not sure what more can you put on a phone (except a higher resolution/bigger screen for this one).
ive been waiting for the nokia 8mp for ages, and i get this piece of garbage? no thanks, nokia, keep your toy phones, im gone, innov8, hikaru, maybe km9000. i dont care. if nokia keeps churning out junk like these, im not sure theyll stay in business too long.
this is a awsome phone but many of us feels this is out dated bcoz of the 12mpx idou from SE , lots of touch monsters from other mobile vanders in MCW.
I feel a shame that I'm still a nokia user (N95)...STOP THIS CRIME NOKIA!! you are going down so fast! Look at the future, everyone is making TOUCH-SCREEN phones but nokia STILL "OLD SCHOOL STYLE" naaahhh STOP NOKIA, or, YOU ARE LOSER!!
Its nice to see an 8mp nokia but the LED flash is a letdown.. Id rather put my money on the new SE Idou.. still i dont see how people can say that the se c905 brick is 'better' than n86.
-dedicated music keys
-8gb built in memory
-VGA video recording
AND its a smartphone!
now i know its not really fair to compare a phone thats been out for a while to a phone that only just got revealed but its annoying when those SE fanboys worship every phone SE brings out.
Blakvat, 16 Feb 2009Those companies have you said has proper funding of their electronic products and trying to be... moreAtleast they can make better phones then Nokia can!
Oh Yeah Nokia doesnt even make the multimedia aspects of their phones......Cameras are from Carl Zeiess and the Software is from Symbian....
Nokia makes the keypad only
Great ! after the dull N85 we get the super dull N86, Samsung is laughing loud...
nothing new....just camera upgraded in n-85!
