There is no such thing as a free lunuch! One way or another you pay for the phone, otherwise why woild SIM only deals not be the same price as ones that include a free phone?
Very funny! The number of phones sold is not mentioned in the article and the source link requires a paid account. As I said before, the number of WP phones sold is 100, and the number of iPhones "officially" sold is 99. "Unofficial" sales of iPhones in Romania may be 10.000. BTW, try to sell a second hand phone anywhere in the world, and let me know the price you get for it.
because of only few apps in native language - so any phone brand is as good as any other?
Guys, stop saying that you can get a phone "for free".
No phone is for free, the cost plus interest is included in the contract YOU PAY. Especially in Romania where the VAT is 24%.
if phones would be free, almost everyone will have one in Africa.

Anonymous, 17 Mar 2014What they don't tell you is that it's mostly Lumia 520.so? whats the problem that most wp that get sold is lumia 520( if you dont tell the price no body can belive its a budget phone)?
most android sold are bug ladend age old bugdroid under $100
This is just a logical trend. Nokia have new phones to sell while iPhone is done selling. It's been a while now since iPhone 5/5s was released. What's not clear here is which Wp phone outsold iPhone.
AnonD-14018, 17 Mar 2014those reports dont take into acount people buying unlocked phones from retail stores or import... moreas far as i know all people buy iPhone under contact no one plays 1000$ at same time.. lol fail logic
Well, that seems legit for an official point of view. Most probably fewer romanians spend their money on brand new iPhones. Still, iPhone is the most popular smartphone here too. The difference is that many romanians prefer to buy a second hand iPhone or to import it from western countries simply because prices are higher in Romania. But yes, WP8 and Nokia is on the rise in Romania too. For example, half of my close friends and work mates have Nokia phones with WP8, and only one 620. Most of the Nokia phones I've seen in Romania were 920. Of course, most of them were bought second hand or imported, as usual.
Iphone isn't so popular in Europe because iOS is closed system and you cant modify/personalize it.
Also 4 inches display nowadays is just mediocore.
Meanwhile in my country, they die in hunger just to have an iPhone.
AnonD-14018, 17 Mar 2014those reports dont take into acount people buying unlocked phones from retail stores or import... moreOk, So I've took 20 random friends.... The result was:
14 devices on Android (8 out of them - high android devices)
5 Lumia's from them only one is an old generation Lumia.
1 iPhone - and it's a 5, not even a 5S...
So, you are very wrong mister !
Gee, 17 Mar 2014You are so wrong its beyond a joke.....get a life and stop being a troll.Actually...he's right. I have a 1520 and I love almost everything about it. But it is lacking in apps and games. Here's hoping for additional app releases with 8.1.
polo99a9, 17 Mar 2014the information is actually correct, BUT.. for every new contract you could get the nokia 520 ... moreFalse again. Right now, you can get a beautiful LG for free if you sign up for an Orange contract. In fact, Vodafone, Orange, and Cosmote often offer free phones on a contract.
That's true because in Romania you have to work 5 months without spending a penny if you want to buy an iPhone. Also, Nokia Lumia 525 is a top-seller here because of its price. You can get the Lumia, a decent smartphone, or a crappy chinese Android. That's why a lot of people go for WP. You get a cheaper phone with good build quality and decent smartphone capabilities.
