Why spend time going to 4.3 its a waste,,go straight to KITKAT or dont bother at all. Thes updates dont do anything anyway what are you missing thats different from 4.2 because no-one notices any difference..
Xperia l is gonna get direct jump to android 4.4 as you see when xl got 4.2 xsp was still on 4.1 and then they got direct jump to 4.3 so xl will be upgraded to 4.4 maybe sometime in April
Anomynous, 22 Mar 2014Theres nothing to guess, obviously you would never buy an Xperia anyway, you just came here to... moreOf course I would, if they were to provide updates in a timely up to date manner.
If u upgrade M then Upgrade Xperia L too
Why else did i pay 16K for Xperia L instead of M
They are just going to ruin the phone. The same that happened to the xperia sp,t,tx and v. Sony's not good when it comes to software support. My advise, do not upgrade til a much stable version is out.
If u don't update Xperia L then I swear to God I will never buy a Sony. Its filled with bugs atleast fix that

rizwan, 22 Mar 2014Please do this for xperia ion becz it's draining battery problem slowing down android camera f... morethe ion doesn't have the support for the drivers as qualcomm stopped releasing drivers for it so ion used will be stuck with jelly bean 4.1.2 ,if you need to fix the bugs try custom firmwares in xda forums but do that IN YOUR OWN RISK AS IT MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE
sad that they didn't do any update for xperia l which is basically a more powerful and featured phone compared to xperia l ,even the recent jelly bean 4.2.2 update was pulled off in service centers due to heavy software bugs like phone hangs during call ,poor touch response etc.hope sony will push a kitkat update for xperia l as they have released the source code for developers.
This is the big problem with Android, fragmentation, because older phones do not get updates, not even my S3 or S2 will be updated to KitKat but many apps and games will need the latest version of Android! S3 will be my last Android!
rizwan, 22 Mar 2014Please do this for xperia ion becz it's draining battery problem slowing down android camera f... moreSorry to disappoint, but the Ion is just too old to be on Sony's radar at this time. Your best bet is to look into XDA's development forums.
PL2, 22 Mar 2014They are upgrading to 4.3 several months after 4.4.2 is released and we are suppsoed to be gra... moreTheres nothing to guess, obviously you would never buy an Xperia anyway, you just came here to waste our time.
hamed shokri, 22 Mar 2014You can't fix the camera quality if
You don't updat the android version understand Camera drivers are not made by Google, but by the SENSOR MANUFACTURER, which more often than not is Sony who have like 70% marketshare on hi def sensors (12-13mpix and up). Then comes the camera software, which is very different from the driver, and most often made by the phones manufacturer, with a few using Googles plain camera interface.
So no, you dont need to upgrade android version to improve the camera, why on earth should you? Both the driver and the camera software are independent from the Android version (read Linux kernel), all that is really changing are some compiler parameters and that script will be provided by the sensor manufacturer for the different Linux kernels used in various Android versions.
