Stores always gouge people who want to be the first ones to get anything. You gotta pay to play. Price will drop back to normal level once supply stabilize.

i am sure that the guy who buy's this phone for such a high price tag is a retard... buy you'r self a se w series handset or go to samsung smart phone's ... i think the external speaker's sound clarity and loudness will be poor...i have used n85 it has worst stereo speaker's in it's range

$1000 for this phone is a ripoff.
I'd rather wait for the official commercial release.

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2009Geez people, there will be plenty of people who will buy this phone for this price. Just th... more"Just think about the price breakdown:
a good, reliable phone costs about $300
a device which will allow portable gaming as another $100
a decent camera these days costs $200
a device which will play music, and access internet is another $400
we're at $1000 already, and there's a lot more that this device can do."

Kindly be noted Motorola EM35 offers the industry's best music and voice quality for about US$200

So adding US$200 for a decent DC, and maybe even US$150 for a good portable gaming device, US$400 can get a good true "lap top" with good internet connectivity, and the package would cost less than US$1000

All of the above can out perform the single phone from the almighty brand...

expansys is a classic example of a distrib that adds no value adn tries to exploit pricing anomolies. They wont even have the product partic. early. There are much much better websites which give clearer indications of trade channel pricing, and mnay others that offer retail channel pricing which is cheaper.

Earlyer i was a nokia fan, but now the phones are getting worse. This price is'nt worth the things they are offering, because there are so many similar phones, for example, N85;79;... they are the same. Maybe the Nokia 5800 can stand out a little, but it is a big rock, which does'nt give as much functions, so i think nokia should quickly start doing something... Personaly i'm going to touchscreens. HTC Touch HD is a good example.

Ive seen the specs of some of the other new phones in the 'top league' and this is nothing remarkable. Don't think i'll even want to examine it with that sort of price tag on it. I'd want it to make my breakfast in the morning.

The conversion comes to about $800 US, which is an outrageous price to think about. However, it does make sense that the price will drop once the 22/6/09 comes around.
