I live in Australia but EU born and I hope the bill passes and not all the fuss. There is enough greed in the world and it is a welcome move to do the right thing by ones fellow citizens and make things fairer and simpler without all the hyper-take. It should not have to take 2 years for change. You can make it happen.

I wish I could say you will be missed, but then you would have good reason to call me a liar.

I despise the n... moreLondon would die without EU... most of the foreign businesses are here for the freedom of trading with the EU ETC.
DONT BUY WHAT SOME CRAZY PARTY IS SELLING YOU...
To all those Ukip & Eu haters that say the EU does nothing but take from us, this proves the EU can do some fantastic things.
you want to see dark ages cell-phone plans? Welcome to Egypt
The EU, basically the cruelest joke that could have been played on Britain.
I despise the notion and the fact that everyone is oblivious to the obvious truth.
IT ISN'T WORKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You disagree? (you're not from Britain) Ok, tell me what good has come out of the EU?
(totally on topic this is actually a great thing for phone users, I'd just like to see if data is included, i doubt it will be)
fabio, 04 Apr 2014Well its about time!! three have already started by giving use of your selected tariff in sele... moreI may be mistaken, but I don't think I am, but I believe as of 2015 the network operators will be prevented from increasing prices for the duration of a contract by new regulations that will come in to affect.
By the way, restrictions does apply to this, there is something about reasonable use. You cannot take any EU SIM and go to Paris to watch Netflix 24 hours a day for as long as you like.
Well its about time!! three have already started by giving use of your selected tariff in selected countries. After this law has been passed, the EU and Ofcom need to look at and punish the networks for putting prices up mid contract.
Pleased they can make businesses change decisions for the best interest of the people in so many countries. Unsure how this will affect overall package prices on a month by month basis.
I guess what happen if in one country or one operator - the tariff is significantly lower than in others. People can buy that tariff even not being citizens, and use it in other countries. I mean it is not only about roaming but mostly - the direct and open competition between all operators involved. And it gets us to only one common and plain tatiff at the end. And it will be not cheap, for sure.
Great news. No more roaming in other countries....
This is exact reason why I insist on paying those damn taxes (apart from the fact it's mandatory)! This is indeed sweet music to my ears as I plan on moving to the UK sometime later this year but still visit my family back home once in a while without the need for swapping out SIM cards every single time, thus changing my phone number to and fro every couple of weeks. Viber is my current workaround but with no wi-fi in range, the roaming data charges are insane.
Eske Rahn, 04 Apr 2014It sounds really great, but I fear that it will mean an increase at our rates. Currently I can... morethis is the other side which not many think of(I'm in favour of no more roaming), operators will find a way to recover that money and the simplest way is to increase the current plans:)
T wouldn't u be happy about this?
It will be absolutely and obviously a great thing!!!! So compliments to everyone involved in it! (If it will happen!?) And i'am from Malta, but even if I was not from the EU, but just because what is right,is right!!!
This should go through
and 3 should jump on this now and they can have new contract in September no bother
regulation of rip-offs is ok, but here the bureaucrats did not think the story at the end..
this will be a good business modell for mvno's or niche-operators with no investments. the result will be lower quality and higher prices for normal users.
