I've seen people make it work with an iPhone 5s on YouTube with the Galaxy Gear. Does it actually work? Are there any functions lost?

Ahmadsyar, 17 Apr 2014If it runs on Android, why not compatible with all Androids? It's just common sense.Gear 2 and gear fit are not android but galaxy gear is
Can i conect gear 2 with galaxy note 10.1 i really want to buy gear 2 :'(
I own Samsung Tablet 10.1 GT-8000 XXCLL1 and really want a Gear 2 . Is there any way they can pair up?
It's sad to read all the hate comments written by people who just wanna battle & go back n forth with one-uppers.
Samsung has dominated....take a peek at their tablets, for cry eye. No one can even come close to their tvs. Never mind washers, dryers, refrigerators, so on & on. We can all live harmoniously - u use your device & be happy with it & I'll do the same with mine. Done. Jealousy is a very ugly trait & it's easy to detect.
This device doesn't even work properly with Samsung devices. Why should it work with other OEMs. Read the reviews.
Anonymous, 16 Apr 2014How is that??? Did you port gear manager app huh??? i did nothing with the Gear 2. Though I knew that iPhone does not work with Gear 2; but, out of curiosity I tried to pair my iPhone 5s, os 7.0.4 with Gear 2 and it paired. I made calls from a 10 m distance and talked successfully. Samsung tried make us understand that it does not work with any other device except galaxy, so that you buy both.
Anonymous, 16 Apr 2014The galaxy gear is a good unit but they shot themselves in the foot with restriciting it to ga... moreBecause the phone's Bluetooth stack needs to be synced with the Gear. I use Pebble with my Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, and even when putting my phone on my right pants pocket with the pebble on my left wrist, I occasionally gets disconnection. This is good move from Samsung, as long they can get 100% connection between the Gear and the phones, I'm in.

Samsung apparently is going down the Apple road of restriction to their own particular universe. Thats why I've never considered acquiring an Apple phone and I guess Samsung will be added to the list. Hope the Moto 360 is open to any phone.
