hi can i udpate my v2.2 to v3.0? i have a model part number MB496T..i saw in the apple support site that this number is from italy they said it is factory unlocked..im afraid to update my iphone coz it might be lock? pls help iphone geeks out there! thanks! im from the philippines..

I'm using it since the first version and i didn't see any big difference between them all. I think this version would be the same.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2009You are a bit late with your comments the pressure already been applied and WinMo was found wa... moreyou are exactly right. the apple app store for iphone is a raging commercial success and others, MS included, are scrambling to copy it. as far as cameras in phones go, blackberry is clearly directed at the business market, but does not have a high megapixel camera. in fact, many businesses would prefer that mobiles did not have a camera for security reasons, which often outweigh the occasional business need for a camera.
the iPhone performs the functions intended very well. if those were the functions you need, well you will love the phone. if it does not provide the tools you need, well, then it won't be on your favorites list. pretty easy decision.
somehow some people on this site have simple preferences confused with intelligence, snobbishness and ability to think. oh well. i assume i will be chastised by those people for liking the iphone, but i guess that will just have to be the case.

The iPhone does the THREE things it was designed and MARKETED as exceptionally well.
Apple chose not to participate in the epeen megapixel race, it's something that can never be won.
Since when is a high megapixel camera a requirement of smartphones?
The iPhone's camera produce decent quality shots, which are a good size to email, post to a website or veiw on a screen.
There are now over 25,000 applications available in the App store, it's rapidly approaching a $billion a year business other manufacturers are falling over themselves trying to mimic this success.
Apple has more than achieved their goals with the iPhone.

IMHO, the real pressure on WM devices will not come from the iPhone OS. There's just too many things wrong with it to put real pressure on it, at least as smartphones go. On multimedia phones the pressure is already on. As for the smartphone segment, I believe the true competition will come from Android OS.

Apple = hyped products
hope for mms guys in this software ... it's been in other phones for almost a decade now and yeah a second vga cam for video calling oups guess not maybe in the third iphone.
Last phone i had with a 2.0 Megapixel was 2004 enjoy ur hyped products guys no hard feelings here but PDA/smartphones is my thing meaning that they do it all and yeah with more than 2.0 megapixel. ;)

and the reason your friend maybe had problems with the E71 is cause she's to dumb to update phone
cause the phone has no problems
hyped OS and cheap plastic vs stainless steel and a solid Made for Mobile mature OS

[deleted post]P.S. The E71 comes in a purse with a dainty little wrist strap, a magnifying glass would have been better for the tiny little keys and screen.
Having to press the little key with the triangle when you want to enter numbers is sooo annoying.

[deleted post]Let me tell you about a friend, she started with an E71 which she hated after exchanging it four times because of various software and other issues so she got a Blackberry Storm she persevered with but couldn't stand it because of text entry.
Now she got an iPhone and couldn't be happier.
Keep your stupid old fashioned ideas about what phone's should do, Apple redefined it in a delightful way.

I look foreward to getting a new one, best phone I've ever used and I've owned plenty over the last fifteen years.
I don't need toys like Bluetooth file transfer because I'm not a kid who wants to share stupid ringtones.
