Roosevelt, 14 Mar 2009With what you stated I agree with you to a certain extent. The quality of the nokia and it fre... moreYes i also believe that it's a matter of preference. I was personally not at all happy with my Iphone 3G. I believe in my humble opinion that the Iphone should not have been alowed to be sold in the first place with so many basic needs missing. The mobile business should have set of laws for minimal reqiurements for different phone groups such en low end, mid range and high end on phones following development in the branch. I like the design of the Iphone and the idea behind it, but the issues they went wrong on are to serious to be ignored. Alot of people buy it out of pure hype, which was very noticable by the way people with the 2G version cued for days outside the Applestore for the 3G. Nobody cues for 5 days and sleeps outside stores just to have the 3G added to the same phone they already have in the 2G version. That is just pure hype. Even though alot of people might enjoy some features of the phone which is top notch, most of them curse their Iphones for the lack of basic features. Fout out of five Iphone owner that i know only stick to their Iphones because of the contract they signed. Personally i am to waiting for the N97, i had a go at it in a Mobile show recently, and i was extremely impressed by its features, and im not easily impressed. It seems to be a complete device in every way. Can't wait to own a white one.

The quality of the nokia and it freezing up on you, well I believe it's the particular phone you had. For I've had and seen other's with iphone that's done the same thing, so within that I believe it's the phone that was purchase that end up being a software problem. I personely miss being able to bluetooth my music and files as the iphone is not able to do, alone with the freedom of being able to download videos and podcasting without having to either being sync to itunes or using wi-fi. Don't take me wrong the apps did serve me well for as medical for I'm and school for pharmacy, however the things I mention earlier makes me want another nokia device. Therefore, I'm waiting for the n97 which I believe(my opinion)to be the best all in one phone and extremely great for those who love to social blog. Some may agree while other's may not but again it's all about preference. For the one's that attack me using vulgar comments, need some serious psychiatric help.

as far as your supposition that i am a "noob" i am an electrical engineer with a graduate degree from MIT and have been developing successful software products for many years. Odds are you have paid a license fee to me for something of mine you have used. Remind me to charge you triple next time, butthead.

go look at the durability test for the 5800 and then tell me if there build is still garbage
never had a faulty Nokia phone ever
the iphone is a multimedia consumer if you guys did not know. Its for entertainment. Youtube, game, music, videos & internet. Its a good phone but a great ipod. The idou & omnia hd are multimedia consumers. I was one of those people that hated the iphone with a passion but if you will just give the phone a chance you will understand what apple was trying to do.

and i've never had a problem with symbian s60 or s40
maybe cause your still Symbian noob
and the iphone is not durabl at all that's why everyone is protecting it like a newborn putting silicon covers on it
David, 13 Mar 2009I got an Apple 3G as a present from my mother in law last year and i'm generally very unhappy ... morei am an iPhone user, and i am very pleased with the phone and its function. But you do have several very valid points. There are a number of key deficiencies in the iPhone. Flash shoud be there as well as MMS. But it depends what you use the phone for as to whether these feature deficeincies are meaningful or not. for example, i do not need to send MMS as the emailing of photos is totally integrated. I never make video calls and do not transfer files via bluetooth because remote disk is WAY more effective and rocket fast. i would like flash though.
I use iphone for mail, both personal mail as well as a connection to a corporate MS exchange server. That works flawlessly, including calendar and reading attachments. in my area, which is all over the US as i travel for work, call quality is outstanding and the 3g connection is very fast, always. battery life is good, not great, lasting a day with very heavy usage.
I have no quality of construction or durability issues, and i am not particularly careful with the phone and neither is my 15 month old grandson who has dropped it many times, licked it and did many unspeakable things to it.
i cannot say the same for Nokia. I used an E66, whose battery would not last a day for me, and an E71, which i found cramped, the interface is both confusing and sluggish, has a tiny screen, and was prone to freezing and crashes. Perhaps i was unlucky, but it was Nokia's lack of quality that made me turn to iPhone. and i have to say after 6 months i am very pleased
your experiences are different than mine, and i can only say, use the phone you are comfortable with. your choice of phone or technology based on personal needs and experiences, not the opinions of random losers on a site like this.
