LynX-007, 26 Apr 2014I don't see how all 'muricans are like "fu yeah, land of freedom"... But then they'r... moreProbably because they have other choices besides what the carriers give them. Do you even know what you are talking about?

And besides, when it comes to real freedom, there are much bigger considerations than something as ridiculously minor as a phone or OS choice. The people on this site need some perspective sometimes.

A little sad so see that the Z1 Compact won't be arriving in NA, but at least it'll be available through an overseas store. Not sure who else has been paying attention, but the Z1 Compact is one of the only worth-while "mini" phones I've seen lately. Basically the only one with a Snapdragon 800, plus IP58 certification. Not too shabby, folks!

[deleted post]They are nowhere near Sony Ericsson standard..I always sell them quick with bad screens poor cameras they are just not good smartphones proven in sales figures..Dont get me wrong I like Sony or used to in 80's-90's but they have gone downhill they used to expensive and high quality.

Anonymous, 26 Apr 2014No Sony is trash and you Sony fans are burning inside.I am no Sony fanboy I don't even own a Sony device lolz. And why US market is trash cuz its flooded with OEMs which makes its more fluctuated and difficult to stay on. And its a risky move for the loss making Sony to stay over there.

Not a wise move Sony! I was desperately awaiting for this phone for months... But now I'll have to get HTC M8. Just like me, many will be forced to switch to HTC from Sony..

Sim free version is always better, it allows you to try out various schemes of different carriers. If they sell it directly on EMI with credit cards, just like they do it in emerging markets, I think Sony is planning to set up a better trend in the US and there by break the present duopoly market of Apple and Samsung. But dont be too late..

[deleted post]You can not compare China, or other country with Japan. There is another thing I can not understand, and this is the fact why other Japanese companies do not entered to the global markets? For example, Fujitsu makes some awesome smart phones. So does Sharp.

[deleted post]The problem is that Sony is working with others. I do not understand why can't they make their own phones in Japan????
