Nobody ever need a touch screen phone... Its about how bad you want it!
And for me, this phone is gold.... It's matching what the Japanese market is offering and then some. Which is extremely rare~

Curre... moreYou're making the right choice if you get the iphone, although I think this phone would be cool as well, but I don't get the resistive touch technology though. I also agree with you in saying that most camera phones are simply hyping the megapixels but not the results. I've always thought that Samsung, SE and Nokia are simply tricking the consumers to believe that higher megapixels is the key to better photos. Well it's part of it, but the major players of good quality photos are its camera lens and its built-in photo processing software. I'm glad that some people are catching on to the deception.

Idou i think will be great however i cannot see the selling point of this phone for me. Currently I own c905, and it does fine for me. Yea, bigger screen, touch screen, better camera, new UI, new OS etc... Will be an extra luxury for me... I may WANT it, but I dont NEED it.
I hope they improve the quality of pics though and not just supersizing the megapixels because thats what Ive noticed with my c905...
I might get the iphone in the future because I aint bothered about the anymore. Il buy a decent camera instead.

I keep wondering why people so eager to post without c... moreI totally agree with u ... ipod sucks (I even tried my Sony's Ex85Lp earbuds with it) My Xperia and W880i sound better than my ipod what a shame. itunes is the only gr8 thing about apple nothing else. After when media Go will be released with the W995 then no need for itunes anymore (hope so) I just cant wait for this baby idou it will be the daddy of all phones.

Check it, SE Idou 3D HW graphics are PowerVR SGX - as are Palm Pre and Samsung Omnia HD - all 3 phones are TI OMAP 3!

I keep wondering why people so eager to post without carefully reading the material first?!
1. Please read first before any harsh words!!
2. I second that SE Walkman (or even Sony Walkman compared to iPod) or even a regular SE Phone has a better sound quality than iPhone.
I'm using a Sony Noise Cancelling Earphones on iPhone (+ iPod) and my GOSH!!
What a pathetic excuse from Apple of what they call sound quality!!
Even worse is when you try to listen to music with the original bundled Apple earbuds...
It's not just a rip-off, it's just sad that Apple calls it an 'ear'bud...

i got an information from my friend who work in SE internal two hours ago, he said "at the moment, there is no real idou camera quality as long as there is no cybershoot or EXMOR logo on the back cover of idou"
it has 12MP CMOS sensor and 28mm wide-angle lens from EXMOR so it will be better than SE S001 picture quality"
and he also said:" maybe idou can record 720p video at least coz there is no QVGA or VGA resolution option for this 12MP EXMOR sensor type as long as idou has processor speed and storage are also capable of the same speed"
