See Flipkart, its an Indian shopping website which had to have its rating and comments section closed.... due to too many negative votes for S5. It got only 1.5 stars out of 5...
The reason why the Samsung phones are region locked are to avoid mass smuggling of devices from cheaper areas.
For example, you pay Rs. 50,000 in India for an inferior version of Galaxy S5... But how does a full power Snapdragon S5 from Dubai or Singapore sound at Rs. 40,000? Amazing, isn't it? That's what people will actually do, they'll just import it from other countries.
Although locking can be removed by talking for 5-10 minutes in the country of purchase which means you can purchase from abroad, unlock it there and get it back to home country. :) But for that you'll have to travel.

My reasons are that while processing power and RAM may not affect the common Joe whose work will still happen, but some other related things do affect our choice.
For example, 4K video recording was sorely missed in the Note III's Indian version. Reason for removal? Well, Indian version just wasn't quite capable of it.
And now, 4G technology is sorely missed in the Galaxy S5, and guess what, even sets costing 50% of Galaxy S5's present cost have 4G LTE nowadays.
And don't tell me you won't use 4G, that's a myth. Its cheaper and faster than 3G, plus its launched in India already... Ten times faster than 3G at the same cost, does that sound like a bad deal? Not to me.
Even 4K TV's are launched, although a bit expensive they may be.
And I'm just a common commerce teacher, giving you all this info... And yes, I'm from a developing country. India.
Funny how many actually believes this. Try to be realistic, Samsung making a premium built phone?? Samsung?? Dont you guys know Samsung yet? Its not gonna happen, forget it, this is the upgraded S5, similar to S4 LTE+ last year, it will even use the same housing as the current S5, thats why S5 has big bezels, to accommodate the bigger display in the updated version.
I feel sorry for those who been dreaming about premium samsung devices before every launch, the S4 would be so well built with a new design, the Note 3 oh yes for sure it would be premium built, no doubt. Then all you got was a plastic with some stitch design ahah, and now you are on it AGAIN, dont you guys ever give up?

All they need to know is wether the phone is popular, has a good screen, good look (very subjective), and priced well.
Samsung is way smarter and used its massive power to give users what they want.
Guess is that samsung will take flagship of the year award back from Lg this year
this it will be the really samsung galaxy s5, come on samsung just make it real!!!!!!!!! (globaly!!!)
What the??? Give me statistics and links please! Don't just give that info withour proof!
Surely the S5 is already a premium device. It certainly has a premium price tag if nothing else. Making this device just shows how little they care about their customers. Superceeding their flagship device is a poor move in my opinion.

I shall wait for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime Neo Zoom Active version as that would be cheap at around 50K...
It's still a boring old Samsung. Same design, same interface, same tired old apps. Nothing to see here people, move on.
well this had to happen sooner or later selling exynos wont be easy in Indian market for samsung...anymore..they had to come up with something...Snapdragon 805...
Amidst the success of HTC's M7 & M8, along with the iPhone 6 closing in, Samsung is left holding their jock & scrambling to get an all metal clad device to market to save some face for bringing the Note's aborted fetus, the Galaxy S5 to the masses.
They'll figure it out someday.
