It's the Same with me.
My ZR just broke and I desperatedly try to get my hands on a ZL2.
Furthermore i will try to fix the panel of the ZR.
Can this ZL2 be network unlocked ? The asian firmware/ZL2 hardware is compatible with european 3G/4G networks , 900-1800-2100 mhz ?
why did this phone never make it outside of japan? ugh. would take this in heartbeat over a z3 or z3c, just because it doesn't have glass on the back.

The form factor is just satisfying.
we stil want the screen to bezel ratio of the original ZL.
Anonymous, 23 May 2014the reason it goes for zl2 intead of zr2 is because zl is not water resistant, and specialize ... moreZl2 is water resistant while the zl wasn't, the zr was a mesh of the zl and z in compactness and water resistant.

The only difference is the compact design (but thicker) since the camera sensor is directly behind the display instead of above... and 32GB of internal memory
I agree that they went with "ZL" naming because of the compactness... but this is similar to ZR...
If this device hits internationally I hope it retains the internal memory... I completely love this phone...
Anonymous, 11 May 2014Someone in the naming department went nuts and called it the zl2 instead of zr2 :pthe reason it goes for zl2 intead of zr2 is because zl is not water resistant, and specialize in screen to body ratio.
why dont they release a 125 x 77 x whatever thickness phone? perhaps they will do so by releasing z2 compact
XPERIA Mad, 09 May 2014the new ZL2 seems to have same specs as the Z2 and a smaller screen. unless someone has discov... moreSomeone in the naming department went nuts and called it the zl2 instead of zr2 :p
I read this new on tecnopasion and they said this screen is a IPS LCD like Z2. So dont worry about the screen.
Dual sim as there is no powerful smartphone it's time to create new flagship models I hope Sony take advantage of the unexplored market plz zl2 dual simple will sell like hot cakes
Anonymous, 09 May 2014But the sale is always better than sony hahaBeen a Samsung user for the past 2 years. Currently a Sony user for about 7 months. To be frank, if I were to change my phone again this year (most probably not because I will be serving national service), I might go for the HTC One M8 or this ZL2. Not really fancying a move back to Samsung.
Not really sure what's the reason, but most people in my country owns a Samsung phone. And people get most hyped about the latest Samsung addition. Samsung has captured a large group of die hard fans/users. May be due to the familiarity of the touchWiz user interface I guess?
Are you sure this phone has a non-removable battery- because that's a real dealbreaker as sony's batteries wear out and become bad very quickly (experience for xperia z and z1)
