Cristi, 09 May 2014My "no, we will not support ICS on this" Galaxy S Plus runs just fine CM11 (KK 4.4.2... moreThis seems like common OEM practice because LG does the same thing. Only they treat the Optimus L customers bady in not allowing an easy bootloader unlock.

My "no, we will not support ICS on this" Galaxy S Plus runs just fine CM11 (KK 4.4.2) with Nova Launcher and notifications. So, please Sammie, just tell the truth, you simply need to sell some of the new phones. Maybe if you would think building better phones rather than releasing one per month with various issues like the S4 battery swelling, i would consider you again. In the meantime my latest phone is not a Samsung, and I am 99% sure that the next one will not be a Samsung either.

I smell B.S sammy

now be careful. Nokia was once bigger than you too and look where it is now. you don't wanna be on the same headline as nokia in 5 years. keeping loyal customers happy is as important (if not more) as being innovative. as a customer of GS I and III and tab. you just lost a loyal one. a lot of your customers are on 24 month contracts and would like to get a decent support for a once flagship phone they paid tons of money for. in case of GS3, 4.2 was skipped and 4.3 was a shameful mess when it was released and took months for it to get it fixed and now no 4.4? simply not acceptable.

You know, they may be right. With the bloated mess that is Touchwiz, 1 GB of RAM probably isn't enough.

Samsung had gave us a much helpful support all over the time since Galaxy S3 had came to lights, started with more than a year sticking with no update on 4.1.2 ROM, and skipping of 4.2.2, and finally when they decided to give a hand to us .. they rolled out the crappy minor 4.3 that came with some of head blowing lags, heating, crazy battery consumption and more.

I WILL MAKE IT SHORT AND CLEAR, MY STORY WITH YOU SAMSUNG CAME TO AN END. NO MORE GALAXY(s) FROM NOW, I PREFER TO WAIT IPHONE 6 INSTEAD. IT WILL BE MY NEXT DEVICE. GO CHEAT SOMEONE ELSE.

shame on samsung. Kitkat has been presented as optimized even for 512MB devices. Samsung should clean all that crapware installed on their phones and OPTIMIZE for less ram usage. Samsung, don't cry if your customers look for other brands, your support sucks big time.

Damn it Samsung you still keep on disappointing many of your clients. The kit kat version of android was supposed to run smoothly even on a 512Mb RAM device yet you load your Roms with a bunch of useless apps and bloatware making it unable to run even on 1GB RAM devices

I suggest to return the phones and force the dealers to pay the initial price for the phones. It is very clear for everyone, I9300 have a hidden defect . It is a factory problem and most of consumers protection laws can force the producer to return the money. Samsung you must return billions of dollar for this cheating.

I am from Samsung Software team, and i can say that the only reason for not upgrading Samsung S3 is to help upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini to sell more, instead of S3 which has actually good hardware compared to S5 mini.

hi, this give us(consumer) a example.. if we want andriod phone (buy nexus line for latest os update), or we should go with windows and apple, who at times give regular updates to all its phone.

samdung idiots should remove the bloatware . Add basic functionalities and upgrade SIII to kitkat . for best performance they should remove bloatware they included instead of giving excuses as they cant work on 1 GB ram . First of all if all bloatware takes so much of ram . From where only the OS would get the free RAM for utilization ?

Still saying Sammy have decent amdroid update track record ? btw Kit kat is much more lighter processing wise incomparable to the recent prior android version. yeah blame the RAM to compensate for the laziness.
