shame on y sammy .... i'll sell my siii, and buy iphone6 .....bye for ever samsung.
neither S4 active ;)
Xiaomi Mi3 gets Android 4.4 KitKat update ahead of MY release
Samsung disappointed the 50 million user of s3 (I9300) for not releasing kitkat...samsung think again about s3..
I'm not tech savvy so I don't know how to root and install roms and i'm sure the majority of android users will agree, but once Sammy's massive user base gets wind of this "news" they will have no choice but to have a change of heart. DON'T SCREW US LIKE WHAT HTC DID WITH ITS ONE X
Shame on you samsung!!!
I was frustrated. gladly got a moto g instead of samsung.
Crap Samsung, We don't want Kitkat for S3.
Just fix loads of bugs you introduced in 4.3.
Lags like hell, Apps crash with 'Memory Full' error, Can't set default apps, Phone heats up like crazy, poor battery life, Gallery requires close to 5 seconds to load, and lot more.
Not to mention bloatwares you've put. it's nothing but shit.
In other words 4.3 update is pile of shit.
When Sony confirmed kitkat for its E1 which has 512 mb RAM then why Samsung can't update with 1 GB RAM? Either they haven't good knowledgeable personnel or Samsung doesn't want to update its one of the best phone. Shame on you Sammy.
It looks like Samsing forces people to buy new devices instead of updating ROM. I own I9300 64GB version + 128GB memory card + extended battery. Running it as a music player (because of Wolfson DAC chip). Runs like a dream. I don't need new device and new ROM. Period.
I flashed my oldie Galaxy i9000 with CM 11, snapshot M6. The 4.4.2 is running smooth with its 512MB RAM. I don't see reason that Samsung engineer is unable to resolve the issue.
AnonD-236540, 09 May 2014I had a Galaxy S Advance that I put Android 4.4.2 kitkat with 512Mb of RAM, and it ran perfect... moreI have an s advance with kitkat too... btw it has 768mb ram. Also, isnt the whole idea of kitkat to be more ram efficient?
Just sold out my S3 and moved on to Iphone 5S, Best Experience ever. RIP Samsung.
Samsung needs to re invent touchwiz in order to works fine.
so sad they kick premium phones in order you get new ones.
kk can be done only they dont want it to happen
I dont buy Samnsung anymore,I have S3 and now im getting Nexus 5. Bye Bye Samsung...Shame on you....
I had a Galaxy S Advance that I put Android 4.4.2 kitkat with 512Mb of RAM, and it ran perfectly... It is just Samsungs greed. Matter of fact I am still using two Samsung devices, a Galaxy S4 and an Ativ S, but with this bad news, this makes samsung very obvious that they dont care about consumers who bought their devices two years ago. So certainly my next device wont be of samsung. Even Im not an S3 owner, this is really a big disappointment.
Sir, 09 May 2014Just root it and slap on CyanogenMod 11, I've been running KitKat on my GS3 for ages now...CM11 for i9300 I so buggy
Phone encryption is non-functional.
TV-Out is non-functional.
Lockscreen sound distorts music playing.
Some little problems with focus in camera app.
Bluetooth does partially not work.
No audio output when docked, audio option for docking greyed-out.
Trebuchet and System UI FC at times, even when screen is turned off (causing a very slow waking).
Profile switching mute music player for a little time.
Profile auto-switching overwrite user's choice (e.g. silent mode/profile).
Often unable to set a custom picture wallpaper, due to frequent FCs.
Just root it and slap on CyanogenMod 11, I've been running KitKat on my GS3 for ages now...
My moto G has 1GB of ram and runs perfectly with Kit Kat. Besides Kit Kat has better Ram management than Jelly Bean, so... it´s only Samsung trying to make you buy a new phone.
But I heard that Android Kitkat can run very smooth on 512MB RAM also.
I am feeling some contradiction from samsung statement here.
I guess the exact reason behind this is, update will affect sales of samsung s5 mini.
Why they roll out s3 mini and cheated consumers, thats why people should not buy samsung
