I don't understand Nokia's decision going with 512 MB of RAM for low end Lumia. True it's adequate, 512 MB WP handset may perform similar to 1 GB Android handset. But for smoother experience, 1 GB should be minimum these day. I don't think most people won't mind the extra $5 price difference for the extra 512 MB of LPDDR3.
Anonymous, 14 May 2014How do i update my 625 to wp8.1 I just update my Lumia 625 with Prev for Developers. Just sign up to the microsoft app developer, then downlowd the Preview for Developer app!! Then check ur phone update! Your good to go!
My L625 works perfectly awesome with WP 8.1
512 RAM? Thats all? Must be kidding. Cannot even use BBM on a windows mobile . Useless
tayyeb555, 14 May 2014yea thts happening wid my phone lately too.. i am pretty sure its cause of the limited amount ... moreMy good impression of Lumia 520 only lasted 3 days after i install more apps. I think i only added like 5-10 apps on top of what it has. I'll see if WP 8.1 has any potential, else i'll steer clear of Lumia phone for a long time.
My 620 on wp8.1 is running smooth with no lag, force close apps or whatsoever.
Also , it seems that many people has no background about 512 mb ram wp devices.
there is an update today...maybe it will fix issues for whoever has any
my 620 has been running smoothly since i bought it in june 2013, it's actually smoother than my old galaxy s2 with 1 gb ram ( yeah i know , weird switch, i wanted to try wp but didn't want to spend much on my trial). yeah, some heavy games r not compatible ( but all apps r compatible though). a very smooth experience and an amazing investment. and oh, lots of updates (just got one an hour ago :) ) From my experience, claiming that 1 gb ram android phones (moto e or whatever) r better because just they more ram is absurd. people, don't claim sth u haven't experineced.
btw, many people forget that moto e has snapdragon 200 which has the one of the worst gpus (adreno 302)in the market....alot worse than the adreno 305 in the 630 (and even my 620) not to mention that snapdragon 400 (in the 630) is alot faster than the 200. add to that that wp is already faster than android...u can imagine the difference
Yeah....Moto E vs Lumia 630...waaaaaaaaaarr...
Time for a bowl of popcorns boys...
luisinhoens90, 14 May 2014Lumia 630/635 will kick Moto E when you run out of internal memory and get unable to get all y... more1. Why would you need to put apps to SD card? 2.2GB is more than enough for apps, you can't expect power user who installs hundreds of apps to buy this device. This is a low end device, not for you to run 500MB+ games or 100+ apps. Internal storage isn't a must have, but RAM is. 512MB is not good enough to run a few day to day apps, not on iOS (my iPod frequently crashes on games, I had only three games installed) not on WP. I'd be happy if my LG G2 had only 8GB (because the system takes up a lot more than Moto E/G) with SD not 32GB without.
2. Lumia 630 is not LTE capable, you want LTE, go and buy Moto G.
3. Moto E/G both have dual-SIM versions.
yea thts happening wid my phone lately too.. i am pretty sure its cause of the limited amount of RAM... 512 MB really isnt enough...
ForEver-SamsunG, 14 May 2014Did u update your phone to 8.1 then that's natural coz I felt the same thing after sometime it... moreHmmm not yet. It's that black update or something. 8.1 is not officially available yet right? I shudder to think what it will do to the phone after all that features improvements are added in.
Anonymous, 14 May 2014Moto e will kick this phone's pathetic 512mb ram its not an excuse that the os is lightweight ... moreLumia 630/635 will kick Moto E when you run out of internal memory and get unable to get all your apps to the SD card. It's 2014 already to still have lame excuses to put just 4GB of internal memory. Btw: Could you try 128GB card on a Moto E? Am I able to use 2 sim cards on Moto E?
Can I get LTE option for Moto E?
I'm highly curious to see the reviews for the Lumia 630 and the Moto E. They won't be direct competitors, but Moto E should compare to Lumia 520-720 on WP 8.1
512mb of RAM? i think Nokia still at stone age .. hello Nokia! wake up..good morning
Well I've got someone interested in Windows 8.1, but I need something smaller and stronger. Reasonably priced Windows phones are definetely what we need. So +1 on this one.
Dont Compare 630 with Moto E.Nokia Lumia 630 Have Quad Core CPU + 305 GPU while moto e is a basic entry level smartphone.
Anonymous, 14 May 2014Moto e will kick this phone's pathetic 512mb ram its not an excuse that the os is lightweight ... moreagree to what u say but still 1 gig of RAM on android doesn't do any good. 512 RAM on windows means u cant install many apps which require 1 GB ram but on andoird even though u can install u can't run those apps smoothly .... firs 3 months will be good after that the phone lags like hell
