Windows may be new to the smart phone game but its coming fast and I think very soon people would think twice about getting a Windows phone instead of a Android or IOs.
AdamBoy64, 16 May 2014I think some people prefer Android for the OS and the flexibility it provides. I'm not one ... moreYep I agree android is flexible.but but average people don't know how to even change the theme lol. So it comes down to simplicity with WP and iOS
I'm done used all of the most os of smartphone. For me, WP is the best OS ever. I'm start using WP since 2012. Very smooth and better than IOS.
Is Sony on board?
AdamBoy64, 16 May 2014I think some people prefer Android for the OS and the flexibility it provides.
I'm not one ... moreAndroid rule the lower market because of price point and avail of apps
Sure, some people will remain in android due to its unique offerings.
But i feel most people will move on to WP8 for budget once the apps fills in.
OEM would move to WP8 since cheaper hardware can produce similar performance as their android counterparts.
Anonymous, 16 May 2014Windows work fine with single core. Android lags even with octa core!!
So what happens when... moreI think some people prefer Android for the OS and the flexibility it provides.
I'm not one of them - but I can see why people would.
yes, free for 9 inch or lower. And honestly i love way of microsoft for buy applcation via voucher in indonesia, so no fuckin credit card

none of them support native video call. so, no WP for me.

So what happens when the OEM release a octa core windows phone?... Can you imagine the speed? .. i couldn't..
In the end Android cannot compete high end phones.. taken by wp/ios
And they also die by low end phones .. taken by wp.
Android (1core/512RAM) -> Crap
WP8 (1core/512RAM) -> Best Budget Phone
What keeps Android alive now is just apps. Once those apps find their way to WP8.. bye bye android.
AnonD-59657, 16 May 2014Microsoft is still sleeping!
The problem with Windows phone is the lacked of apps and not t... moreAgree, the real issue with WP is lack of apps and developer.
But MS don't need to pay developer. They only need to lower barrier entry to make WP apps. That is:
- Allow WP development environment on wider OS (linux, macosx, xp/vista/7).
- Or better, allow WP apps created using non-MS compiler (gcc, cygwin, eclipse, netbeans, etc).
- Remove market only restriction. Allow app sideloading like android, or make developer account free like blackberry, without any imposed limitation.
See? Soon the only WP OEM are those chinese companies. Big OEM will mostly stick with Android.
AnonD-58835, 16 May 2014Fake information here. Microsoft is paying actually OEM manufacturers to offer windowsphone de... moreIt better than google who forces oem to install all google apps only. Also MS is paying them as they would spend money on advertisement and other promotion. So what's wrong with giving money to promote my own product?
Also who said mid and low range is of android ? For year there was no competition in this segment for android now that WP is taking of google can feel the heat.
This last year alone Lumia 520 sold more than any other budget android. And even got the prize of best buddy phone
Fake information here. Microsoft is paying actually OEM manufacturers to offer windowsphone devices, according to my best friend that works at microsoft. There is a secret agreement to promote this obsolete devices. Low and midrange market is Android market and now with kitkat is much better than obsolete windowsphones.

My mid-range lumia 928 with dual core processor and 1gb ram runs with less lag than both of my friend's galaxy note 3 with more than double the specs.
you can't even compare the performance of the nokia icon or lumia 1520 compared to ANY android phone.
also, not to mention the simplicity, professionalism, and efficiency of the windows phones.
BCHLIU, 15 May 2014When you are almost paying the OEMs to have your OS, then of course this will happen. Now that... moreAs far as I can remember until very recently Microsoft was asking for money in return for WP license. Nokia was a different case. They planned to but them.
you ruin S40 from nokia! No like.
The OS in itself is not terribly interesting. They all do the same - manage the use of the parts of the phone - memory, cpu, gpu, input, output, etc. What matters are the apps. The way to go about choosing a OS is to figure out which apps you need. Perhaps you need one for the schedule of your public transportation system. Perhaps also one for your bank. And one for your local weather service. Etc. Check the providers websites for which OSes their apps are offered
Rise and takeover the world wp hi will never go bk to Android OS hi love ❤ my 520
17 OEMs and 5 phones.... not sure it is a good thing.
