Maybe 2nd time is the charm to take on Apple. Are all update for Nexus cancelled?

There must a good reason why he prefers lg rather than sony.
Anonymous, 19 May 2014How about sony?why don't google give SONY a chance?SONY was my choice at first too, but unfortunately SONY have failed to produce good products recently. They haven't got a proper design as well as stable hardware. LG's hardware is simply exceptional and the best ever, Google being a huge success, would never want to risk their final Nexus device to a be a failure. I personally preferred LG and Google made the right choice.
How about Sony you should give a chance Sony you had tried many OEMS like HTC,Samsung,Lg etc.. but never tried with Sony
revosa, 19 May 2014LG??? Oh no Google please dont do this again. Silver lineup should be limited to premium segme... moreNo, I don't want easy to scratch metals or bigger bezels or the pathetic LOGOS all over the phone. Plastic feels and is much premium than aluminium.
Anonymous, 19 May 2014How about sony?why don't google give SONY a chance? This is a business. It's not about "giving chances" to someone, but rather about having compelling business proposals.
Believe me when I say Google wants everyone. If they still haven't released a Sony that is more due to the lack of a good business proposal than anything else.
Mr.Greg, 19 May 2014I do believe Google doesn't like Sony, like CyanogenMod team doesn't like Sony.Wait, what!?
Many of the CM team members have been found publicly endorsing Sony phones (just about when the Galaxy S4 launched)!
What you meant is that the guys responsible for maintaining Sony in CM (FreeXperia) have proven to be less successful than the guys behind the Samsung branch (Team Hacksung).
Blame Sony for that, let Sony know that CM (and other 3rd-party ROMs) are fundamental to your buying process, so maybe they'll start allocating more resources not only to releasing sources but also to work with those teams to deliver fully working 3rd-party ROMs.
itsme, 19 May 2014next nexus should be a SONY, come on google...nokia please..

makes sense the Silver will be on Sprint. They will then release a Gold on Verizon and AT&T
I have bought each Nexus phone since the HTC Nexus One. The Nexus 5 is near perfect except for the camera and battery life. The fact that it has Qi charging makes its short battery life barely tolerable.
Sprint is absolutely the worst of the US carriers. To give any non-GSM carrier an exclusive on any type of flagship is craziness.
I was hoping that the Nexus 6 would be a 5.5" with little or no bezel and a removable battery. FM Radio would also be great along with a more recent Qualcomm chilset.
its not snapdragon 801 .. its snapdragon 810
The design of the processors is based on 20nm technology with Cat 6 LTE, advanced multimedia features and 64-bit capability.
801 is outdated already. 805 is the next step but the milestone for this era will be 810 surely. It will have massive futures and capabilities that will last sooo long.
Azn, 19 May 2014Silver sounds so cheap, gold is better. :)I would've went with Platinum or Titanium.
Not exactly accurate. Snapdragon 801 will be getting old in technology terms by 2015. Also it will mean the nexus 5 will be like 14+ months old by then. Apart from devs the main reason why people buy Nexus is because they are so cheap for a high performance uncluttered U.I. Android Silver will not be as popular if the prices are like Google play editions. I hope we still get our updates when android silver is out. Bad timing really as WP is beginning to pick up pace and has a lot of manufacturers backing it now.
