AnonD-265564, 20 May 2014No. It's going to be a tragedy for Snapdragon. Because the game changer is already here. Obvio... moreHe said "game changer" not "battery changer", which is pretty much what nVidia has delivered so far every single time it presents said "game changer".
AnonD-265564, 20 May 2014No. It's going to be a tragedy for Snapdragon. Because the game changer is already here. Obvio... moreThey said that with Tegra 3 too. K1 seem good but what is the power consumption?
Ferrij F.L., 20 May 2014I have a dream that one day, people going to work bring no notebook but Smartphone. The txt in... moreWell, my forecast is a little conservative...need some heavy work to do, go to any (internet) cafe, plug you phone into a standard interface and get a big screen (20+") and keyboard for you phone. Optional wired internet (in the same connector) and mouse.
I wonder how close my Z1C is to that (well, HDMI output and USB connection cannot be simultaneous, but the rest I think is already feasible...maybe an NFC tag to connect to KB+mouse+net by BT).

bogdan, 20 May 2014will be nice to see this chipset 615 on s5 mini ... :), with 13 mpx isocell, 16gb, and 2gb RAMat least old 600, but not 400 as promised
AnonD-265341, 20 May 2014Is it really nessesery with 8 cores? Wont it drain the battery like hell? It's not. Mobile CPUs still far away from necessary power. Hence why such a rapid grow. Just like it was with desktops 10-15 years ago.
Yet again. Snapdragon 615 will have powersaving CPU - Cortex A53, which is successor to Cortex A7. Successor to powerhungry Cortex A15 is A57.
Ideally for rocket controll. But for an ultraportable device is stupid enough!

I'm holding off from upgrading this year and going to wait for next year's flagships with SD 810 and I assume Android 5.0 64bit will inevitably get released.
800 - 801 is just a very minor update.... i prefer 810 over K1 as Tegra support very bad.... modding rom community love snapdragons, i think
E., 20 May 2014810 will be the game changer.No. It's going to be a tragedy for Snapdragon. Because the game changer is already here. Obviously you don't know about the K1.
So what's the fate of Snapdragon 805, which is yet to be seen in any device if 806 and 810 are announced for the end of this year?
Most people still have a dual core computer at home and except for super high end games, no app today uses nore than 2 cores. Basically, we need these 8-cores for the QHD and future 4K displays, which again we don't need.
I have a dream that one day, people going to work bring no notebook but Smartphone. The txt input from voice to text, the display using fold-able plastic UHD TV that available everywhere. That's the day of extinction for Notebook and PC.
Frank Werther, 20 May 201499% of cellphone users have no idea what this means, nor do they care.Yeah. I'd say the same about the people on this site. 99% don't really know what it means but 99% only want it to feel good about themselves.
