the NVIDIA gfx6 series for smart phones offers a high graphics with brilliant pixel support, but when the performance side its not worth.

Mediatek's first octa came with Mali-450 MP with performance similar to Adreno 320 (64 ALU) and CPU power similar to S800.
This power in a $179 phone accompanied by 2GB RAM is pretty amazing.
Their MT6595 octa is also on par with qualcomm's S800 in CPU performance and the PowerVR Rogue Series 6 GPU with performance similar to Adreno 320 (96 ALU).
Their new 64-bit octa (MT6752) will come with Mali-T760 GPU. Not sure which MP version, most likely MP4 or higher, but I doubt it will be the MP16 with Kepler (192 cores) performance in all fairness. Also their MT6732 will feature Mali T760 of some sorts.
So in their latest chipsets they've chosen the newest from PowerVR and Mali. Not bad at all for a very affordable chipset.
Your view on MTK is a bit dated. They move forward very fast, faster than Qualcomm, so they are definetly catching up.
Considering that the mighty Kepler already has been pretty much caught up by Mali T760MP16, I guess it isn't the biggest loss. Geforce was working too slow for this industry, not just over priced. Tegra 4 came way too late and was much too weak compared to others. With a high price tag as well, no wonder no one went screaming for it.
PowerVR G6630 @ 650 MHz isn't too far behind either. And I still haven't seen any tests of Adreno 405, 420 nor 430. I've heard rumors of about 287 GFLOPS for the 430, so about the same as PowerVR G6630 and weaker than Mali T760MP16.

gaming oriented cars? challenge accepted!
FreezeGame, 25 May 2014You think so, even with Samsung Exynos and MediaTek SoC's still being manufactured?mediatek is usually for lost cost phones (they always use very slow gpu on their SOCs) exynos is only used by samsung premiun devices only in selected markets (they are very power hungry)and also samsung had been cheating on some gpu benchmarks) apple a7 chip is greatest as it least power hungry and most powerful on sigle theaded benchmarks but again its use by apple products only so game is left between qualcomm and intel as nvidia said so

Intel is still in lead but its influenced by Microsoft and they will never let Intel to release something ahead that's the policy of Microsoft of what they make, they release it after 10 years at least....

They lost the battle to mediatek and qualcomm, atleast now AMD and Intel should come to mobile market
it means qualcomm is in monopoly if intel dont do anything i dont know why they say that their kepler chip is very good
Smart move! Casual gaming doesn't need nvidia graphics!
I'm glad they have left the competition. Their SoCs weren't great, and their drivers were completely closed sourced. Qualcomm, although not perfect, are more open with their drivers. The loss of TI OMAP processors was great, they were the only completely open company.
So much for all that "support"

No more overheating and laggy Tegra! Snapdragon FTW!
Nice move nvidia :)
i have a nexus 7 2012.. Not a good experience having it.
Snapdragon is good also.
Good decision. NVIDIA is a really good brand when it comes to graphics card and such and I really love their products. However they couldn't quite make it in the mobile world and finally decided to leave. Kudos NVIDIA! This shouldn't be a loss for them. Who cares about making a gpu for a f*cking phone at the end of the day most people will be facebooking and instagramming, none of which require outrageous power from a chipset. Yeah there are those who "game" on their smartphones but really, most people don't even use all that power. I'm glad NVIDIA realized that the the spec wars are outright stupid on a smartphone. They belong in the PC/Desktop market where they have always excelled and where specs REALLY matter!
Good! Now we can expect more better stuff from Mediatek without breaking the bank.
