Is this upgradable to kikat 4.4? Any news when it will be released?
I'm using this product to post comment :)) just bought it yesterday. I have to admit that at the price ~150$ fe170cg is a good tablet with 3G and quick respond. Its antutu benchmark is equal to M175CG at ~15,000 point in general.
its screen looked bad at the first operation, but when it'll ask you to install a system update, do it right away, the display would be so much better.
to conclude, this product is worth to buy ( not for ones who love selfie btw :P )
I have this device.. I use it as my main phone and an internet companion, this device is much better than samsung offerings.. First of all this device is fast, swiping thru menus is a breeze, no lag and apps open flawlessly, since this has a 1.2ghz dual core intel atom z2520, it scores 15000 in antutu and 7400 in quadrant.. which is good for a device at this price range.. its dual sim dual 3g hspa+ capable both sim slots are dual standby capable.. battery life lasts a day under normal use..:-)
too bad.. i already got fonepad 7 ME175GC from Lazada (Php 8,995.00)..
i wanted to sell it when i read about this downgraded version since:
a) 5 megapixel camera is not much of use.. i dont use the camera often coz its not that good either and if i want a great photo, id rather use my dslr.. VGA front camera is already good for video calling..
b) 800 x 1280 pixels, 7.0 inches (~216 ppi pixel density) vs 600 x 1280 pixels, 7.0 inches (~169 ppi pixel density) - the difference is not that great.. samsung galaxy tab 3 7.0 has the same resolution at 169 ppi pixel density.. good enough for me for the price (Php 5,995.00)
5 MP rear camera
1.2 MP front
2 MP rear camera
VGA, 0.3 MP front
they have the same battery capacity and processor..
for the Php 3,000.00 price difference, better get this new one ASUS Fonepad 7 (FE170CG)..
more pocket friendly.. cost less and its smaller than the ME175CG..
it is already out in the market here in the Philippines and not only for launch for publicity.
Actually, asus tailor fitted this tablet so moms could buy plenty and give to their toddlers as throw things (when toddlers get angry by being not able to complete candy crush level lol)
Its bloody good if you just go for a microSD card....as long as screen ppi and brightness don't fall too much, and how bad does anybody need a camera on tablets anyways
Bought it. 1 major disappointment : Viewing angle. Feels like having early 2000's LCD display.
They downgraded an already downgraded device.... Very interesting choice
Malaysia already Launched it at RM499.
but the Camera is only 2mp/0.3mp.
Asus tablets bar nexus lineup are not worthy of any money to be spent on it , nexus is great for its price but others are nothing difference from cheap chinese tablets
