LG are on top of the world, they really are on fire, they keep on pushing technology further ahead, I think a 4k phablet would be great but first let's enjoy and marvel at their QHD phablets.

Bezels will still become narrower and the phablets display size will increase and settle a little above 6".
Webpages will adapt accordingly.
Better vision than 20/20 can distinguish higher resolution than 300ppi. Everyoneelse can use a magnifying glass.

at the viewing distance of 12 inches/one foot, an average human eye can distinguise around 300 dpi/ppi looking at a fixed point, when we are constantly moving our eyes looking for content, it drops down to half of that - around 150 dpi :)
In the near future, it may be the case that chipsets will be able to drive 4K screens with minimal strain, when combined with new screen manufacturing tech and better batteries. In the end, maybe not that many people will see the benefits in day to day usage over lower resolutions, but it's still nice to know you have the best there is, if there are no major technical drawbacks and the cost premium is minimal over lesser screens.
Lets just wait for a 29937 ppi density, it will probably come soon with al the new technologies.
asdfgh, 29 May 2014I am afraid that notebook screens (15.6") will be regarded as phone in the near future...... moreasus zenfone 4
I know one thing that these huge displays will definitely bring long and short term bad effects to human eyes because we already know that computer displays do bad to human eyes.God knows what real harm they do to human eyes/brain/body as lots of radiations are emitted from them that is not healthy like apple or drinking water but may be we would know all about it after 100 years or so.
it is just marketing gimmick after all
because when ppi is beyond 300 ppi the eye won't distinguish between individual pixels
just pointless and more power consumption etc
I am afraid that notebook screens (15.6") will be regarded as phone in the near future... Are we gonna be able to see 4" phones in the future?
LG GPRO3 is coming...
"People dont need this/that" comments welcome every new step on tech. Then in a short time people starts "Why we dont have this/that". You think QHD is a mess. Next year we wont like QHD screens cause of new UHD screens. But in the comments we will see UHD is a mess when we have QHD. And ...
2015 ,LG G3 , 5.5 inch mini :)
New standard 6 inch.
Its more desired to make 5incher more compact lowering bezels all around so that most of the area can be reached single handedly. 1080p is fare enough till it consumes lesser power than higher density screens.
High quality magazines have 600 dpi, how are they going to sell 700 ppi?
And 6" display is too big for a phone, I don't care how small the bezels are, 5.5" is the cap.
~~~ this is never ending war..... i think its good companies are manufacturing higher res displays. its upto the consumers which ones they want to go with ~~~
Wrong tactic lg, nobody needs 600-700 ppi. Lg work on your cameras and build quality instead of this.
