Mr. V, 09 Apr 2009why get a iphone where a new one is out every few months? there are so many iphone killers out... moreThose so called iphone killers, I tried some of them myself including the Nokia 5800, they're no way near the iphone's: touch experience, ease of use, OS stability "specially if not unlocked", and ofcourse let's not forget that it has the ipod which is best mp3/mp4 player ever released, and the best internet browsing experience from a mobile phone. That's why any touch/smart phone compares itself to iphone even if it has more features.
Hey fellow iphone users. I just uploaded from the App Store a dictionary application called "dictionary.com". It's an awesome dictionary app and it's free. It's comparable to Oxford's and Webster's dictionary that costs $24.00, and this one is free. It also has thesaurus and word of the day, and even has that speaker icon if you want to hear how the word is pronunciated. It is a must app. Requires wifi to upload due to its size. Enjoy =)
and 3megapixel camara, when at this time, are cells whit 8mp and soon with 12mp...it this a great newss jejejee!!!
rudeboi, 09 Apr 2009so tired of the lame excuses why the camera and video options is not necessary on a phone. exc... moreWell we're also tired of stereotyping non iphone users making a big deal of the iphone's camera AS IF their 5 or 8mp cameraphones can actually match the quality of digital camera photos and videos. And how many times do we have to tell you guys that the iphone is not focused to being a camera phone, but a music, apps and web browser phone. There are lots of other smartphones as well with less than 5mp cameras, so please. And why are you so concerned with the iphone's camera? I own an iphone and I could even care less. Well I used to have the N95 and I didn't really care about its camera either after realizing that it's still not as good as my digital camera. So what's the big deal? Yes, I know that I have to take my digital camera with me and upload to my computer and all that, but then guess what? I would have better quality photos to post on Facebook and I would have better quality videos to post on YouTube. So at the end of the day, I am more happy with the quality of my photos and videos than I would be if I used a camera phone. So is it worth the extra work to use my digital camera? YES. So zip it already.
You said that your argument that Symbian phones are better than the iphone because of its megapixels? LOL. Well how about web browsing? How about the app store? How about the 3.5 display of the iphone? How about the iphone's visual voicemail? How about the iphone's ipod feature? How about the iphone's OS and UI? So we will just disregard all the benefits of those features that are more helpful than fun and just judge the phone by its camera? LOL. Now that's immaturely lame.
Sorry, but I rarely see anyone taking pictures every minute with their smartphones here at work. Smartphones are still mainly used for calendar, notes, internet, making calls, sending SMS, emailing, apps. Yes, I see people taking pics with their phones at restaurants and parties or when friends hang out, but it's only FOR FUN, and you know what they do with those pics right after or when they get home? (I used to do this too with my N95), delete, delete, delete. You know why? People use their camera phones mainly for fun and to show off. So please stop the nonsense. A person who takes pictures seriously and regularly would prefer to use a digital camera. So again, please stop the non-sense.
Anonymous, 09 Apr 2009Before you say that the iphone does not have all the functions that people need. Is there a ph... moreNot to mention that Steve Jobs was not even present when they announced copy and paste, obviously they guy who made that statement is as ignorant as the rubbish he posts.
Now cut and paste using your fingers is not as easy as it sounds try doing it on a Storm for instance, Apple took their time in order to get it right, to make it easy and pleasurable to use.
One of the things that all the detractors are missing os the functionality of the 30 pin dock connector which is currently only used for music and video out (component, S-video and composite, which incidently NO Nokia's can do) which will be opened to developers.
What this means is that almost any piece of hardware you can think of can be adapted, plugged in and controlled using software and the iPhone OS interface.
Your boring old fashioned phones will soon be gathering dust like the N82 I've got in a drawer somewhere.
so tired of the lame excuses why the camera and video options is not necessary on a phone. except for special ocassion the practically of having these features on a phone would make sense, seeing the fact that alot of these high end devices picture&video quality are starting to equal that of digital&camcorder devices. for those people who like to upload pics and videos the process is quicker then waiting to get home and connect your camera to your computer and so on...So therefore Symbian fans have a legitiment arguement on why there devices is better then the iphone.

I believe that the iphone is in a league of its own. If you read the trail of discussions, you will know that it is those Nokia and Samsung fans who just loves to promote their Symbian devices in Iphone threads and compare their misconceptualized Symbian devices with the iphone. So please read before you make judgements =)
Anonymous, 09 Apr 2009First of all. I have used the iphone the iphone for 6 months and sold it and bought a blackber... moreSo you sold your iphone because it does not have some common functions that you needed on a phone. Well why did you buy it in the first place? You are not making any sense.
You mentioned that most phones have at least cut at paste that you got used to. Well I got used to multi-touch myself and I also got used to the iphone's visual voicemail, and I can't have a phone w/out those features now. And I use the multi touch and visual voicemail functions more than I would cut and paste. And I knew that it would only be a matter of time until Apple adds copy and paste, and I was right. So there. I use multi touch every time I use my iphone. Do you copy and paste every time you use your phone?
Copy and paste is a helful feature, but it is really silly to give up the other great features that the iphone offers that are used REGULARLY, for a feature like copy and paste that a person only uses every once in a while. Now that is blindess.
Tansen, 09 Apr 2009 People who say the Iphone can't do anything and is a useless piece of crap aren't producing... moreiphone has a great hardware, but the softwares are just taking ages to develop, remember it's 2009 now, many of the functions were there since 2005 or even early.
Anonymous, 09 Apr 2009iphone fun boys, let's get clear with this issue, that you can't compare one iphone with nokia... more People who say the Iphone can't do anything and is a useless piece of crap aren't producing any evidence to support their claim. The Iphone is easily capable of everything everybody has said it cannot do. It can record videos, MMS, voice messages, Stereo Bluetooth, everything. You want it to multitask? Fine, but it'll last like an hour.
Apple does what it does not to limit us (though I admit it has done that and continues to do so), but to keep up quality. They witheld multitasking to keep up battery life because frankly, multitasking on a phone is retarded. I used to multitask on my N75 Symbian phone and it would crash whatever application I was switching from, AND the one I was currently on.
Push Notification is a much smarter, more efficient, and better way of approaching the "multitasking" problem. And cutting down the iphone because its "just NOW getting MMS!!!!" is stupid too. As long as a phone has a feature in the present (June 2009) who gives a crap about WHEN it got it and how long apple waited to give it to people? They had originally left out MMS because they wanted to try to shift towards Email, which is actually a much better way to transmit pictures and files than MMS. Video calling is so rarely used that it'd be a waste to implement it into the Iphone. If you must video call, use a laptop with Skype. As for the camera and lack of flash, no phone will ever really give you great pictures, and to make a phone that could do that would cost alot and detract from its other features.
Without Xenon flash and 5+ MP, a phone camera will still only serve to take pictures of food, car crashes, trees, squirrels, and stupid things. If you are going to a wedding or fancy dinner, THEN you can take a nice camera. Iphone is a work of art that has done right what no other phone really has. And with 3.0 OS and bluetooth capable peripheral devices like keyboard and blood glucose readers, there will be little that the Iphone CANT do. I want to see any OTHER phone do those things ;)

try to compare the iphone to htc, SE or blackberry, as the iphone should be suppose to be the same level as these makes.

personally, il ike the iphone, the touchscreen is smooth, it is fun and it has many apps that is fantastic.
what i do not like is apple launch it without many common function. of cos you are right, non of the phones on the market is perfect with all the function, but most of them (the smart phone), e.g. WM ranges, blackberry, nokia etc, they all have at least cut/paste at least, and apple just announceds it, not even in use in the market.
iphone is a fair phone, but it doesnt deserve people to follow it blindly.

You're sad because now you can no longer say that the iphone cannot send MMS. You can no longer say that the iphone cannot copy/paste. You are sad that you can no longer say that the iphone does not support BT stereo headphones. Aaahhh, you poor thing. Well, the iphone still cannot iron your clothes, or wash your dishes for you, or fly you to the moon. So there. It still can't do every thing. So be happy now, ok =)
Hongdolaxi, 09 Apr 2009apple has to listen to their customer because they do not have all the functions that people n... moreBefore you say that the iphone does not have all the functions that people need. Is there a phone out there that has every single function that people need? That is such an unreasonable thing to say. And yes, Apple does listen, and their answer is 3.0 OS, where it includes features that iphone users have been asking for such as copy/paste and landscape keyboard on all apps that uses the virtual keyboard. Apple even included some features that iphone haters wanted, like MMS (most iphone users don't really care about this one). So how can you say that they are not listening? And when you said "Jobs go to hell". That is a strong hate word. It gives me the impression that you are really hurt by the Iphone's success. You must be a die-hard Nokia or Samsung fan. Poor thing.
Anonymous, 09 Apr 2009iphone fun boys, let's get clear with this issue, that you can't compare one iphone with nokia... moreIt's actually Nokia fanboys who go went in here and promote the N97 and the 5800, so don't accuse us Iphone users of comparing the Iphone to those poor performing phones. What advanced technology of the 5800 and N97 are you talking about? It's resistive touchscreen? LOL. Wow. Last time I checked, resistive is old technology, and you call that advanced? Yes, 5800 is so advanced that it is not as responsive and as intuitive as the iphone's UI. It's so advanced that you cannot do multi-touch zooming. It's so advanced that they're barely have apps on OVI, lol. It's so advanced that it still uses plastic displays. It's so advanced that it cannot beat the iphone's web browser and ipod feature. WOW. Very advanced indeed.
This is something that you need to learn. Loading a device with features does not always make sense. Yes, it would look impressive on paper, but is it practical? Do you really need it? Or is it just Nokia's strategy to kind of fool consumers that their devices have 1 million features. The bigger question is, how does it perform or execute tasks? Example, the front camera for video calling. You guys brag about that feature all the time. But do you see people using it? Why would I run windows on my iphone? Is that something that I need? That is how you guys are not making a lot of sense. You brag about those features that your Nokia phone can do, but you are not thinking if those features really matter to most people or not. What really matters is the usability of the device. The behavior of the device. The execution of tasks. Those are what matters the most. And the iphone hit that need spot on. And that is why the Iphone is a big success.

I feel sick of watching their presentation when they say "hi, everyone, we now have the cut and paste on the phone, then the audience cheer and applaued."
It makes me wonder what type of people are in the audiences.
jobs go to hell

Apple has one of the best customer support team. Better than Nokia or Samsung in the ratings. So your talking BS. And really, who cares where Apple got their technology from. The most important thing is, they got most of it right. What are your concerns? Are you even an iphone user? What phone do you use now? Did your phone manufacturer custom made your phone for you to address all your concerns? =)
Mr. V, 09 Apr 2009why get a iphone where a new one is out every few months? there are so many iphone killers out... moreIt's funny how you desperately discourage people from getting the iphone, lol. Yes, there are a lot of phones out there CLAIMING to be an iphone killer, and they all failed miserably. nokia 5800, htc magic & blackberry storm did not surpass the iphone's sales despite the iphone's expensive data plan. And yes, those phones pretty much have similar features as the iphone, but the question is, do they perform as good as the iphone? NOPE =)
zorkor, 09 Apr 2009let get this straight. iPHONE is getting mms and video recording in 2009? I mean here we have ... moreSo what's the big deal if the iphone is only putting in mms and video recording in 2009? It's a low priority feature for the iphone and for most of its users. And now that Apple is adding it in, it would still be the least used feature for most of iphone users. Obviously, people didn't buy the iphone for those reasons. You have that surprised mentality because you probably MAINLY use your phone using mms and vid recording, lol. WOW, now that is a joke that most people had to settle with in so many years. What specific limitations are you talking about? I've been using the iphone for a while now and it's the best phone I've ever had.
