i dont go everywere with my canon, but when my kids do something funny i always have my N95 ... moreUmmm, if you have kids, the more reason why you need to have your digital camera with you at all times to capture special moments. I don't have kids, and I have my Canon camera with me all the time because photos are important for me wherever I go. Now if I need to take a random photo just to email it quickly to a friend, my iphone can handle those random, not so special photos. I paid $300 for my iphone w/ a 2yr contract and it's worth it for me. For the first time, I actually have a phone that can surf the web effortlessly and fast, unlike the N95 that was just impressive on paper but was frustrating to use. I have also gotten rid of my ipod when I switched to the iphone. Something that I couldn't do when I had my N95, and I was still using my Canon when I had my N95. Go figure.
The iphone is not for everyone. Especially those who cannot afford to buy other good devices and can only depend on their phones and settle for mediocre results, lol. I would have to agree with you though that there are pretentious people who buy the iphone, well they are the ones who are going to suffer the consequences. It's all about buying the product the suits you and your lifestyle. And the iphone is not for poor people.
The iphone's touch UI and OS is the best, and that makes you jealous that your Symbian devices cannot match it. But you have no choice but to stick with your Symbian device because you cannot afford to buy apps from the App Store, high quality music from itunes, can't afford a Canon camera, can't afford 3g data plan, can't afford a laptop, can't afford a flat widescreen TV. So you only settle for pirated apps and music, depend on wifi, watch movies on your phone, and take pathetic photos and videos through your phone, LOL. You're cheap =)
plz mr i phone we need sending and reciving bluetooth applecation
MAHMOUD, 08 Apr 2009when will aple learn from their past mistakes?? we are in 2009 and other manufactrures are rel... moreI think you misunderstood Apple. They never targetted the masses like Microsoft has. Apple is not just about making money. They want a product that stands out in quality and practicallity for their intended market. So what if there are phonemakers who are producing phones that can record in HD? It's not even released yet. The results are questionable at this point. There's a reason why Apple does not include features that might be common on other phones. It's usually for quality, security and piracy issues. Concerns that other phonemakers do not care about. And who's making a big deal about video recording and MMS? It's usually non-iphone users who are Nokia, Samsung and SE fans, not us iphone users. I have the iphone, and I have no problem using my digital camera in recording videos and taking photos because they render better results, and I have no problem either emailing photos instead of MMS because there is no extra charge for emailing photos, but MMS is included in 3.0 if ever we decide to use it.
phones can have good cameras in them. My nokia n82 has all but replaced my need for a separate point and shoot camera. It has a xenon flash too and takes decent night shots. Apple just aren't aiming the iphone as a camera phone, that's why it never has had a decent camera. However i have a feeling that the 3.2mp camera in the new iphone may suprise us all and takes very nice shots. My old nokia n73 took very nice shots with adequate lighting but that did have auto focus. I don't think apple will be using auto focus but apparently has some fancy tech that overcomes the limits of a fixed focus lense. Be very interesting to see! I think many users that were on the fence about the Iphone due to some major basic feature omissions will buy new one has they have been addressed. Myself included. To some big headed dick bragging about all his toys he has, yeah sure, stand alone devices do things better, but i don't want to be carrying 5 things around with me all the time. My nokia is my mp3 with 16 gb card and 32gb are out soon, gps yes with navigation! My camera and xenon flash, video recorder and web browser. It's also acts as a modem to my laptop when on the road and i'm posting this message on my phone. Sure saves much room in my pockets having it all in one.
"The iPhone 2009 is rumored to have a better 3.2 megapixel camera"
might as well start dissing about iphone 2009 now
Sahara Dessert Enviroment
I took this Video on my N95 8gb on a fishing trip to the Caribbean, i did all the editing, from Music to the words on the begginning and the end and upload it to Youtube, i have to say that even on HQ Youtube dont make justice to the real quality of the original vid.
Also Iphone are well know for is unreliability and Nokia for being reliable!!!
and yes my N series are always fishing with me and no problems, my friends Ipod did not took salty enviroment as good and we also have to conect my N95 to the Stereo for Music on board since it got damaged!!!
Anonymous, 08 Apr 2009I can totally relate to you. I love my Canon camera and I will not settle with the N95 or Inno... moreAgreed and so true lol!
Standalone cameras are the best! for proper professional and high-quality photos. (best choice!)
and then at other end of stick theres phones with the small lenses and fuzzy video LOL
i dont go everywere with my canon, but when my kids do something funny i always have my N95 at hand and record it, something u cant do with ur little toy, for especial ocations ill grab my Canon, of course it takes better pics, but u cant make calls from it!
if u pay 700$ for an Iphone let me tell u that u have been scamed that over priced piece of junk should be 200$ no matter how much $ i make i always buy the best thats why im not a brand fan, Omnia HD is on my sigth, and if Apple bring something good as Nokia or Samsung ill buy it, but rigth now its crap!! please dont say that people with $ buy Iphones, thats a lie, thats the reason why so many people buy em, to fool other people to think they have $, same as all Apple users they let adds fool em to think they are cool if they have its product and what fools do in response? make an 8 hrs line to buy its crap!
when will aple learn from their past mistakes?? we are in 2009 and other manufactrures are releasing device thn can record video in hd, and apple is still to release a device that records video! these are the mistakes that made microsoft take the market from apple 2 decades ago, coz they won´t give u everything out fromthe box, u should always come again and order the extras! i don´t deny how great are their OS and screens, but we shouldn´t be talking about video recording or mms sending in 2009!

I love my Canon camera and I will not settle with the N95 or Innov8 to take photos and videos. I just can't. I think the N95 and the Innov8 are kinda cool for taking fun, random pics, but seroiusly, if my intention is to upload photos to MySpace or Facebook, I want excellent photo quality, not so-so pictures taken from cellphones. I hate those videos posted on YouTube taken from cellphones, and then they write on the video description "this was taken from my cellphone. sorry for the poor video quality", LOL. That's what you get for being a cheapo, lol.

Im... moreNo, 14 year old kids ask their parents who have money to buy them an iphone. Usually, 14 yr old kids settle with Nokias and Samsungs if their parents could not afford the iphone =)
So what if you are a dentist? Sure dentists can afford digital cameras, but hey, if you choose to use a camera phone because you are not picky with photo quality, then that is your choice doc =)
Last time I checked, you can buy the N96 for $500. The iphone 3G is $700.
Go buy the Omnia HD. Dentists can afford it for sure. Then maybe we can go to a party together. You take pictures and videos using your Omnia, and I with my Canon. Then let's compare photos and videos afterwards and see who took better pics and videos =) Then you will realize that my Canon took better photos and videos, and since you are a dentist that can afford a Canon camera, you end up buying one for yourself the next day. And on the next party, you find yourself using your Canon camera instead of your Omnia and you wonder "Why did I get the Omnia?"
Theres 2 types of Hype right now.
1. People who are just fulll everything in their Mobile.
2. People who just want a Simple and good phone for everyday use with good OS/UI with excellent design and usability! thats practical!
These a-holes in this website crying about SE has a better camera, Nokia has a better that.....are all FANBOYS! F*ck them
I mean i have a N95 8GB, i rarely use the features it...its mostly just a simple telephone for me..
reason being i don't even use the other features becuase i have other devices for that. TomTom for GPS, Laptop for computing, a LCD TV!
Get it! iPhone is perfect for me to as its perfect for usage and suits my needs!

Im A Dentist, no more to say...
I have all they toys i want and i love my N series who by the way are more expensive than ur iphone!
and as soon as the Omnia HD hit the market ill buy it!
and im going to make a burn out on my new ZR 1 and record it on HD!
LeeMoh, 08 Apr 2009I agree it’s naïve to seek a digital camera quality picture from a mobile phone camera.
But... moreYou asked about multi-tasking. The iphone allows multi-tasking on some apps. Let's face it, there are a lot of dumb users out there. They open several apps at the same time and they either do not bother closing them or simply forgot about the other opened app, so it keeps on running in the background, and then they complain about battery life when it is their fault for letting their phone multi-task when there is really NO NEED to. IMPRACTICAL. If an important task is in front of me that requires me to do SERIOUS multi-tasking, believe me, I will pull out my beautiful Mac Book Pro right away =)
You mentioned SMS forwarding on the iphone. We will be getting that comes 3.0 release along with other features. As for video recording, again, use your digital camera. As for memory, 16gb is more than enough for most people. If you need more than that, you really need a laptop, not a cell phone. You cannot change the battery with the iphone, but you can buy battery packs which are more convenient than buying regular batteries (no more opening the back of the phone).
HD display? Do I really need that on my phone? I have a 51" HD plasma TV at home with Bose surround sound, and you think I would enjoy watching a movie on my phone? You are kidding me, right? I have other apps on my iphone to keep me busy when I am on the go. Again, IMPRACTICAL battery consumption, but I guess for people who only have black and white TV's at home, it's worth it for them.
And you are right, it's the iphone's UI, simplicity and user experience that makes it a great phone, and that is what counts the most for us. And let me sum it up for you. Do I need 8mp on my phone? NO, because I love my Canon camera. Do I need multi-tasking on my phone? NO, because it would just drain the battery.
No offense, but the iphone is really for people who have the money and can afford to buy other HIGH QUALITY devices and would not compromise on quality buy having to settle with a camera phone to take videos and photos of their friend's debut or graduation or wedding or parties or clips of a concert performance. OMG, I would never use my phone to capture special moments. I won't even consider it. But then again, I only say that because I can afford to buy other expensive high quality devices. But of course for the low income population who cannot afford, they'd have to depend and settle with their phones to take photos, videos, multi-task, edit docs, gps, watch movies, etc., and I do understand that life is tough for low income people. Again I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone and I don't mean to be arrogant, just being realistic. BTW, I never even used my iphone's gps. My BMW has a navigation system =) Not bragging here, just want to give an example that phone features that are necessary for poor people are not necessary for rich people like me. So I cannot relate and I find it annoying to see a Nokia, Samsung or SE fan complaining about a phone's camera. I find it pathetic and cheap =)
