what about wireless charging? Just checked on sony's website (uk) and they've announced a wireless charging plate (qi certified), which, for now, works with various qi-compliant covers... Let's hope the new Z ultra 2 comes with qi embedded ;)
Anonymous, 03 Jun 2014Xperia T3The T3 has already been announced, what would the point in sony releasing this *teaser* if the phone which is was talking about had already been announced?
I am using Sony Xperi Z Ultra and I must say it is the best the prettiest and most premium device i have ever used...I am planing to buy Sony Xperia Z2 Ultra, and I hope it is going to be as slim as the first one, 6,5mm. Prior to this one i had Samsung Note 8", Nexus 7 2013, samsung galaxy tab2 7" and 10.1", samsung galax S2,Iphone 4 and many others...
AnonD-124816, 03 Jun 2014These guys sound like apple fanboys. how come you liked the phone before you know the spec.Z Ultra was (of) the first with Snapdragon 800 and Adreno 330. No reason to think it will be anything less than 801, but probably 805.
What else was great? The screen, and we've seen from Z1 to Z2 that they shrink the bezel, so hopefully that will be the case for Z2U as well.
A LED flash would be nice for flash light functions, and also I hope for a larger battery.
Sony! Please release something in Windows Phone hell tired of Android it is getting like headache for me

Hopefully they cover some major points in the z2 ultra.
Having only 8mp was a bit of set back...But not so big. It's still great. However...No camera flash on a flagship??????WHAT?????
And the small battery then for a 6.44inch 1080p display...Especially this was before Sony started getting better with battery back up.
AnonD-209094, 03 Jun 2014Very wrong, a battery should not go much below 40%, as a deep discharge causes enormous damage... moreI run all my devices down to under 10% battery and never have a problem. My 3 year old RAZR I holds charge as long as it always did, as does my nexus 7
techknow, 02 Jun 2014Sony pls improve your displays.....phones would be perfect thenWhere have you been lately dude??? FYI, Z2, Z1 Compact and T2 Ultra have already been using IPS LCD displays with Triluminos display technology for enhancements and so far everything is great! Your issue has been gone and was just a part of Sony's history. :)
Uh oh! I was dreaming of a Z2 Ultra Phablet with a QHD resolution and a better camera. Maybe like the Z2's camera since the Z1 Compact rocked the same camera lens! I just hope though that it will have a flash unlike the Z Ultra which didn't have which was too disappointing! I was set to get myself the G3 but I think I have to wait again for this before I get myself one. A 6" screen like the T2 Ultra with a QHD screen is better than a 6.4". Sony, I know you listen to your supporters! Do things right this time! :)
I've been waiting sony z ultra2 for 6 months!
I hope its fast gaining in Indonesia
Thank you Sony, thank you gsmarena
i love this phone z2 ultra
realease date plz......................................................
Another flat+square but not ergonomic device. Sony smartphone design can be say nice but not nice to hold on thumb. This a big mistake while phone design to hold for long period.
Anonymous, 03 Jun 2014sony devices are so ugly. HUGE BEZELS! i will get nexus 5 or G3large bezels aren't awesome for sure but i disagree that sony phones are ugly. It's power and style for me anyway.
AnonD-209094, 03 Jun 2014Very wrong, a battery should not go much below 40%, as a deep discharge causes enormous damage... morethis is stupid. turn off ur phone at 40% battery? seriously? then just don't use it at all.
GoToSchool, 02 Jun 2014Why do they keep pushing out devices that have minor upgrades compared to their predecessors? ... morei think sony ceo said they're refreshing hteir products in shorter cycles...6 months or so
If it has Windows 8.1 on it its a done deal for me. Android is the worst mobile operating system between them all (IOS, Windows Phone, and Android). IOS7 was a major step backwards and Windows Phone 8.1 is simply the best user experience. We have our fingers crossed since Sony has committed to Window Phone.
