Ahaha, it will never be approved if only connected to the wrist, thats called QUACK and is strictly illegal in most countries. You need chest and ankle electrodes as well you know?
Android Man, 07 Jun 2014who cares it will be expensive. 100's of $, and wont be as good as Galaxy Gear. so pointless e... moreI think you are forgetting almost every factor. Gear is for Galaxy and iWatch is for iPhone/iPad. An iPhone owner can NOT opt to buy Gear and a Galaxy owner can not opt to buy an iWatch.
Furthermore, iWatch will define what smartwatch is all about, Gear hasnt made any impact whatsoever on the definition, Gear really doesnt matter. Apple is once again the one to set the standards and define the frame. Im looking forward to see their implementation, thats what they do best, take an idea or a concept and make it work in real life.
Nobody now make a smartwatch for Health, if Apple will make it, it will be a bless because we all want a healthy life. When you eat to much chocolate your iwatch warns you and so on. When your heart start to have strange BPM to dial 911 and so on

Its Macbook air is dangerously very close to laptops price. And iMac is the best desktop machine to have.
Its old thinking of PC is cheap, and Mac is expensive is coming to a end.
Now with iOS 8 / OSX integration, they are pulling all iPhone users to have Mac.
As for windows, i agree it will not go away that easily, but i envision it staying alive in Mac as bootcamp / parallels.

Probably with some health focus, not too much i hope. This article and its source implies the highly unlikely possibility that iWatch will be a piece of medical equipment which of course is almost unthinkable. From what i know Sony is the only gadget maker who is heavily into medical equipment and for good reasons thats separate from their mobile division. Health yes, medical equipment like glucose metering no. And as i said in another post medical equipment need approval, can take years to obtain in many countries. Very unlikely.
And lets not forget Windows 8 is still 100-200$ to buy when mac is free since Maveriks. Windows 9 its obligate to be FREE

There are people who need to check these types ... moreI have no problem with sickness, im saying that Apple is not making medical devices. My uncle always carry his blood sugar monitoring kit, you would not be surprised to know its not a gadget.
Health is one thing, Apple may focus on that, but to make medical equipment meant for people with serious underlying conditions is a totally different story.
PLUS it probably would make the iWatch illegal in most countries because due to being medical equipment it needs approval, which typically takes many years. Its very unlikely that iWatch will be made only for Cambodia, Philippines and a very few other countries where the medtech and pharmaceutical industry has few market restrictions.
Lets all get real, nobody even Moto 360 can determinate people who has a Rolex or a Longines to come into smartwarch platform. I think Apple wants that too, to make a fashion line of iwatch for almost all the situations and ages

90% of people in world cannot afford any Apple product even if they spend their 1 year savings on it...Apple is hell expensive..
Only Android is affordable for these people right now and Windows being next as their license is free now.
Below $100 make sense which is only released either by Windows and Android so never think that apple is the game changer xcept in America....
One should remember also it's not really just hardware that counts here. Apple's HealthKit platform is also a selling point, providing a central repository for the various apps and devices.
Sarcastic as the comment was for diabetics and geriatrics, it actually is a very useful platform for them, providing easy access to their doctors to their health history at a glance.

After steve jobs dead, ... moreThey are so obsolete that every year they break sales records :p 46% of smart phones sold in America are iPhones. But I'm not a hater on android I'm buying iPhone 6 motorola moto x+1 and lg g3.
Ate they saying this is not for HEALTHY people? Only sick people always want to be connected with biometric devices all the time!
And when Windows now falling apart and being used only by consumers who haven't upgrade their computers, and companies, the only product remain is their Microsoft Surface. And now Apple will release Yosemite and will boost their macs selling and more seamless working with iOS8

There are people who need to check these types of information up to an hourly basis so that they can prevent themselves from dying. And these type of products (even though overpriced) can be really helpful for their well being. Its good that you yourself are a healthy individual. But you should have respect for the sickly.
