Gibby, 12 Jun 2014...you had me until you made the comment about a physical home button. None on screen button... more...says only people who havent used onscreen buttons on their daily driver. I was skeptical at first too but now i think physical buttons are super lame.

None on screen button... moreApologies - correction:-
...'as large a screen as possible in as small a FORM FACTOR as possible'...
Pocket-ability + productivity = key - for me anyway ;)
Anonymous, 12 Jun 2014Not bad. But normally samsung write their brands in the front of the device...
Kinda strang... moreWhat kind of screen are you reading this on? Open the webpage in your iPad or something and you'll see that the Samsung name is there. My current laptop has just a cheap TN panel but i could read it, and also on my BlackBerry with IPS display when i upped the brightness.
This is a great example of why CRT monitors were so good, things like these were much more visible, no modern LCD panel can compete with an old Sony Trinitron cathode ray tube.
evilbunny, 12 Jun 2014Galsxy F will be a great phone. Galaxy S5 is a great phone. iPhone 6 will be a great phone. Lg... more...you had me until you made the comment about a physical home button.
None on screen buttons mean more screen real estate & I know plenty of people who wouldn't consider a device without one, due to the fail safe nature of its availability to get you back to the 'start' regardless of how deeply engrossed in your OS.
As for repeat design language - look around. Personally I'd prefer to prioritize as large a screen as possible in as small a screen as possible over something that 'looks nice'. Practicality over bragging rights. Anyone who considers the appearance of the back of a device sgould take priority over productivity & ergonomics is mentally defective.
But I won't be getting this phone - sadly :'(
KP, 12 Jun 2014What about apple then?? Havent they being showcasing the same dull design for the past decade? The same dull design every Android company copies. HTC One, Sony Zs

Snapdragon 805 has been postponed until the end of the year,
So it is a Galaxy S5 with a screen swap and a backcover swap. No wonder Samsung build S5 big with thick bazel, it is the same-body-different-phone approach. S5 is the low-end Galaxy while F is the high-end one with better hardware.
Galsxy F will be a great phone. Galaxy S5 is a great phone. iPhone 6 will be a great phone. Lg G3 is a great phone. The spec war is over. I currently have LG G2, best phone I ever had, works like a charm, I'm still getting LG G3 because, being the shallow douche that I am, I like to have a current flagship in my pocket. What I'm trying to say is that it absolutely doesn't matter if Galaxy F has Snapdragon 805 or ScorchedEarth 600 processor, there is absolutely nothing different a person with 805 processor will be doing better on his phone that a person with 801 or 800 processor. Same way QHD screens are really not necessary, 1080p are just fine. As I said, spec war is over. But Samsung phones currently have an overly simplistic shape, whether with thin or fat bezels it's the same, and it hasn't changed in generations, also an absolutely idiotic and unforgivable physical home button, and spacing between icons on UI is just ridiculous, LG G2/G3 have icons spaced much closer together, it looks much better and is more efficient. I also have no idea what is good about the phone being made of metal, iPhone or HTC are no more applealing in metal than without it, anyone who cares about his or her device uses protective case just as I do with all my phones, they might as well be making phones out of angel's foreskin ( I think Vertu does) and it wouldn't make any difference. So it's LG G3 for me, at least it has laser focusing and, fresh look and fresh flat UI going for it.
Pre planned marketing tactics, knowingly aquireing coustomers brains to divert their attention towards their brand. Spread the photo keep people hoping for it and then call some guys with cameras and show off modified version of old software and hardware that could be done year technology in at its resting stage. Not biased about any maker but in general. Its something the same since September 2012 when iPhone 5 then HTC 1 and then note 3 were launched. They didn't satisfy us with their iPhone 5s HTC12 Sony z2 Samsung s5 and lg g3. Motorola x did the job but only for America why????? Not a biased onebut since some time a but for now i am a user of walnut back custom made MotorolaX phone.

Kinda strange they didn't do it here.
Fake. Bezel on the right side does not recede correctly with distance, and the bottom of the display is too close to the buttons. Its obvious the S5 wasnt built to take a 5.3 inch display, this just aint gonna happen. 5.2 inch in S5 body is what the F/Prime is about.

I think it's fake. The word "only" in "emergency calls only" in the lock screen of the galaxy F is missing a "y" it just says onl, which leads me to believe that it is edited.
