I hate when people come on this site and trash it with assumptions and lies. Work in Mobile before you open your mouth"

Keep in mind that when microsoft merges another company into their own, they often maintain unique benefits of the old company.
I wouldn't be surprised if the sidekicks simply get a new design OS and a similar data pack to go across the board for windows mobile as a subscription.

You have to admit the Danger OS was pretty useless. imagine if it got the added functionality of outlook & fast file synchronisation instead of a danger website

the slide sidekick was made by motorola and that was the reason why is so bad. All other sidekicks are made by SHARP.

well i tlk to tmobile rep and they told me the cost of this phone without a contract is 400 dollars because the phone "is up to par wiht the g1 and iphone"
if you saw the phonescoop review of this phone it looks good but not great enough to be with the g1 or iphone
the market on the iphone and g1 are what makes phones better
                  when everyone contributes
the sidekick is good for people who need a okay web browser and a okay social networking phone
                  its nothing more
not a sms crazy phone because it doesnt even thread the sms's which is total bull
                  doesnt thread emails either
                  only threads IM apps

this phone is not anywhere near worth 400

actually i found out a little bit more info it looks to be made by motorola *sigh* as i spoke to sharp and they said they are no longer making the hiptop in australia so therefore it must be *even bigger sigh* motorola....although i rang motorola and the curry in the call center had no idea what she was talking about (as usual *not sure if that's because she was curry or she works for motorola* LOL) and kept rambling on about the Q700.....funny that, they give you a number to call in regards to the lastest products and yet they still know sweet FA!

So yeah looks like motorola as sharp definitely confirmed that they are no longer making them.

is this made by sharp or motorola? and is it going to have an australian release as a hiptop?

                            interesting.

crossing fingers that the sidekick LX '09 gets retrofitted for the Next G network(850 MHz UMTS) for Australia.

all i have been hearing from Sharp and Telstra both is that the next hiptop/sidekick to land in australia will be next G compatible.

this will be good, because then i can stop selling the ugly hunk that motorola calls a hiptop/sidekick slide.

can any T- Mobile dealers let me know if sharp is manufacturing this model of hiptop/sidekick?

A better sales rep, 18 Apr 2009Oh please, there's no way they're releasing the G3 this year. Get your head out of your butt a... moreyour so ignorant for a rep, a true rep knows the release dates and knows his phones. The wing was one of the worst flops in the history of our PDA's. Second the BB 8900 is just another BB, nothing new besides updatde features from the 8320. I know simple minded people such as yourself wouldn't see the purpose in a G1 because you would be to confused on how to use it. The G3 will be out quarter 3 possibly quarter 4 at the latest. If you have not gone over that in market meetings yet maybe you need to talk to your manager and see why your not informed correctly. Fact is if your going to come on here and talk about a phone you need to know what your talking about because simply coming on here and saying something stupid does not make it true. your not even deserving to work at a company if your that ignorant.

What's worth upgrading something that wasn't good from the beginning? This handset is based on its internet features. If you don't use it for the internet then your better off saving money getting a handset that doesn't have 3G capability/EDGE. In purchasing a handset mail-in rebates are offered and the price displayed is the "after rebate" price. In order to get the mail in rebate you have to get the internet feature which is $25 a month added onto your calling plan of a minimum 39.99 a month 2 year contract. Ask yourself $70 a month to use a Sidekick LX. If your going to use your handset for internet usage OPT to buy a quality handset. Remember your going to have this handset for 2 years. This Sidekick buttons will stop working/wear off within a year in which you would have to buy another handset, full price; From personal experience of the previous model. And t-mobile's cheapest (excluding pay-as-you-go) handset: $150.
