I believe that phone on there is the S710 or S750. but im pretty sure it was the S710 Swivel phone.

The phone in the picture, I think is a non exciting model. And SE should freshen-up their lineup or it will get worse. Otherwise SE rocks!

bummy, 17 Apr 2009BTW, Anybody know what phone that is on the picture of this article?It is an S500i, launched in 2004! It was called a "jack knife" style cause it used to swivel to the side. IT had a 1.3 megapixel camera and a big and good quality display.

That has no thing to do with the quality or anything. The actual problem is with the phones specifications, which are always weak and outdated. We want "real high-end phones". I can not really call W995 or W902 high-end phones because they are already outdated.

It's good to see that even in a tough time like this, SE keep on innovating & introducing new offerings. The 'idou' is classy & surely it will take mobile phone benchmarking to the next level. Coming months we can expect the battle between SE vs. Samsung. [eg. idou vs. OMNIA HD] The giant Nokia is struggling little bit [no financial stuff relates here.....everyone is having a bad time these days] & most probably N86 8MP & N97 will not be stars in the market. So....keep up the good work SE!!!!

All of them are old. However, they still have much better features than our phones in terms of design, screen size and resolution, big stereo speakers and auto-focus in every phone and many other things.
SE is either stupid or does not like us. Their phones do not sell very well in Japan because other Japanese phones are much better LOL (Sharp, Hitachi, Panasonic...etc). Okay, SE bring us those phones and we will buy! no matter what the price is!. Our SE phones are expensive and crappy, however, we would pay if they bring us something worthy, like Japanese phones.
That is the reason I am giving up being a SonyEricsson fan. Thanks to Korea, because of Samsung we don't not need any thing from those selfish and stupid Japanese manufacturers specially Japanese SE. Sony still thinks they are the big boy in the business. However, Samsung has over $80 billions more revenues than Sony.
If they want money, SE should release something like Japanese SE phones and everybody will be happy. Japanese people want to show the world that they have better things, whereas they can never make big profits like this .. how stupid!. Go Samsung GOOO !! .. we do not need any thing from the selfish and stupid Japanese SE.

Sony should get their phone quality up, they dont have good low end phones, nokia and moto sell low end phones like hot cakes. you get a good enough sturdy nokia/moto for as low as $22
