dave, 15 Jul 2014does it support 3g GSM ? coz in flipkart website it showing 3G:WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz@Dave,
3G WCDMA is 3G only.
It's a term used for 3G and 3G+ (3G 900Mhz) networks.
Let me clear one thing, once and for all.WCDMA IS NOTHING BUT 3G GSM.So guys, dont ask about it every now and then. Also, the pronunciation of 'Xiaomi' is 'Shao-mee'.
They price their phone almost at the cost hardware alone. And they make profits because they sell any phone for no less than 18 months. And Xiaomi gets their phones manufactured by Foxconn.

Although, it is too simplistic for my choice

Than you have to remember about what apple and Google did with their flagship devices such as iPhone 4,4s,5 and nexus 4,5. They launch these devices later in India.
Xiaomi wants to know the strategy by selling their some devices only at first in india not a flagship with heavy price.
uzi.m, 15 Jul 2014Not really a Moto G competitor because Xiaomi's MIUI is a quite weighty OEM even on 1 GB RAM. ... moreMoto G is indeed awesome but with the specs Mi3 has, it would smoke Moto G out of the water. Granted MIUI is heavier than Vanilla Android but its not going to be so heavy that its going to be equally fast to Moto G, even if its not optimized. MIUI has been around for sometime & Xiaomi is not just another Chinese brand, so I am pretty sure there is no point in comparing this with Moto G.
Do google for benchmark scores
I'm wondering how much would be the actual cost of a flagship !!! Its not just apple- every one was squeezing their customers.
But no news when it came to open sale here in the Philippines after the traditional batch selling. Just got mine today though
Amit, 15 Jul 2014Everyone has to wait till 22nd JulyMaybe I need to spell it out: The day they start selling the Mi3 in India is the same day they unveil a new flagship model that most likely won't initially be available in India. ok? Or do you think the Mi4 will also launch in India on July 22? ha! Nope! Send all the Mi3's to India! -- We'll take the Mi4's!
I could be wrong. But if that's not the case, why bother to launch the Mi3 in a market only to immediately replace it with another model on the same day? Doesn't make sense unless they're not planning to launch the Mi4 in India (at least, initially, maybe they'll launch it say...next year).
The only other reasonable strategy would be if the Mi4 will be launching at a significantly higher price point as not to cannibalize the just-released Mi3 (see middle paragraph).
Oh My GOD!! A snapdragon 400 powered device @just 7k! just chummeswari man :D

This MI3 beauty gonna r*** micromax, sam, xolo and lava. Killer price killer specs and terrific quality!
Man all these mobiles are killers.. INDIAN BORN manufacturers have to run for their lives now. Ohh this is gonna change our view towards silly Indian manufacturers.
Snapdragon, 2gb ram and much more... I'm waiting..
Waiting for the 64GB version of xiaomi MI3. Does anyone know when it will release in India.
MI4 Launch would be a much better buy....but is there a plan to launch MI4 simulataneously in China and India on 22nd July ????
My only question is and it can be a deal breaker, Whether Indian version supports GSM 3G (I use Reliance 3G GSM)as the specs on mi india site and the exclusive online retailer flipkart state that it packs 3G WCDMA (not GSM) and 2G GSM. Now if thats the case most of the buyers will be limited to 2G only as 3G WCDMA aka EVDO/EVDO+ in India doesnt come with SIMs. Comes locked with simless CDMA phones.
