NO YOU CAN't !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SchaGadget, 08 Sep 2016hi.. im using sony xperia xa ultra.. maybe this will help transfer your apps from internal to ... moreThanks, doing that now - but have 4GB of apps, and phone will only allow transfer of 500MB of that. As soon as I go under 6GB of spare internal storage I get almost daily warnings about the available space - if I could the delete the rubbish apps that Sony deems necessary for the 'xperiance" but I have never ever used, would be helpful.
Im using xperia aqua m4 and i wanted to move my data to my sd card.... nd so i did next thing you know all my data was gone.. so heart breaking
Sure, I can see "Move to SD card" in the apps - but in every one that I looked at, is greyed out, inopperative. So could clean up my storage - but can't! Frustrating.
I couldn't find any Move to SD card button inside each app but only Forcestop, Disable, uninstall of the Setting. My Sony Xperia XA just started last Saturday and already use 70% of the memory by all those auto update on the apps it came with. Even Sony apps itself non stop updating since.
At first it was pretty frustrating until my wife showed how to transfer files to my mem card (external) from my internal mem on my Sony Experia C dual sim phone
1.Go to File Commander icon.
2.Home page appears that has different tabs for Pictures, Favourites,Music , Videos, Documents, Downloads, Recycle bin, Internal Storage and SD Card.
3. Tap on the Internal Storage n all the files in the internal mem appear.
4. If you want to move the whole folder/file tap on the farthest end on your far right of the file's/folder's tab, you'll notice three vertical dots that what you tap on.
5. A dialogue box appears with has several commands i.e. Rename,Copy,Cut,Delete,Move etc.
Choose MOVE command.
6. A page will appear with an arrow pointing to your left side of your phone screen with the command Move to Internal Storage as the header of your phone screen.Down below the header all the files that are in the internal storage also appear.
Tap on the header Move to Internal Storage.
7.A page will appear with an arrow pointing to your left side of your phone screen with the command Move to File Commander as the header of your phone screen. Down below the header will be tabs for Internal Storage, SD Card, FTP, Local network and Downloads.
Tap on SD Card tab.
8. A page will appear with the Move to SD Card as the header of your phone screen with a tiny file /folder icon which has + (plus) sign in the middle on the far right.
If you tap on the file/folder icon a new folder dialogue box appears which you can store data, videos, pictures, apps, etc
Down below the Move to SD Card header will be tabs for different folders i.e. Pictures,Music,Ringtones etc. You can choose one of the folders which you want to move your data, info, pictures, videos, apps, etc . If you also took the option of creating a new folder it will also appear here. The files/folders are scrollable to.
On the bottom of the phone of the same page you will also have two commands CANCEL / OK.
Tap on OK.
Your pictures, apps, videos are then moved to your SD Memory :)
Point to note though.
If you move a folder that already exists in the SD Card a dialogue box with the hazard sign with the command Merge or Overwrite appears as the header next to it depending on the data. Below the header you are informed the folder already exists. There is also a small box with Apply to all folders which is optional. Below this you have highlighted commands of Duplicate,Skip,Merge/Overwrite again depending on the data.
Hi everyone, I see we all have the same problem with our Sony Xperia phones, I use Sony Xperia mp4 and I have also been having issues with installing applications on my phone as well as cords, I have actually changed 3 cords and I am currently using my 4th charger in about six months.
Going through the comments, I found something that worked for my storage and I wish to share with you all. If you have file commander on your phone go there, you will see internal storage click on it , on each folder you will see three dots click on it and then choose the option cut, after that , look up and you will see three lines on the top left of your phone click there and choose SD card click on it and you will see a small rectangular shaped box on the top right of your phone that is paste, paste it there, do same for everything on internal storage, hope it works for you too.
It is really matter of sock! I lost my Samsung Gelaxy grand neo plus, the pain seems nothing comparing to my Sony Mobile I bought a year back. Really frustrating its hanging, storage problem.......... How Sony Mobile are so costly without solving such problem!!! I strongly against any want who look towards Sony to buy.... and I will continue it..... ! Only remedy is pick up a hammer and hit it and throw it to dustbin, never say Sony, I do not how other Sony product are..., but I hate the name SONY! BYE BYE SONY! Suggestion: First solve the problems, upgrade it than only launch at the market!
How we can transfer the data(application)
of Sony Xperia m phone internal memory to sd card.
Please help me out, my Sony M4 do not accept or have play store, i cant download any apps so far.
My M4 is on 5.0 (Lollipop) and I have exactly the same issue. The phone has now gone from warning me I'm low on memory to stating is is unstable due to lack of memory (which indeed it is), yest I have 12Gb sitting idle on SD card. Every App I look at has Transfer to SD card greyed out as unavailable, although helpfully (not) the few I managed to install on the SD it's happy to move to the phone (except it can't due to insufficient memory). Whether a Sony issue or an Android one surely one of these mega organisations should be sorting this?
So after a lot of research I figured out that its not the issue with the device its the latest android marshmallow 6.0 update. Android now has done away with apps being stored on sd card, well atleast some of them, but media such as photos, videos and music can be transferred seamlessly. The reason being that the flash speeds for the apps to work best on the device is to be stored on internal memory. Sd cards will not be as good and you may experience lags while using apps on your phone. This is with all android 6.0 devices so android will prevent moving some applications (if not all) to sd card. So until android does not come with a way for us to move ALL apps to sd card the only option would be to root your devices and try 3rd party apps which may mess with your devices performance (or maybe not in some cases). I'm not sure if I'd like to try that yet.
