So after a lot of research I figured out that its not the issue with the device its the latest android marshmallow 6.0 update. Android now has done away with apps being stored on sd card, well atleast some of them, but media such as photos, videos and music can be transferred seamlessly. The reason being that the flash speeds for the apps to work best on the device is to be stored on internal memory. Sd cards will not be as good and you may experience lags while using apps on your phone. This is with all android 6.0 devices so android will prevent moving some applications (if not all) to sd card. So until android does not come with a way for us to move ALL apps to sd card the only option would be to root your devices and try 3rd party apps which may mess with your devices performance (or maybe not in some cases). I'm not sure if I'd like to try that yet.
VP, 01 Jul 2016Thanks...It worked for meThank you! Been losing the will to live with this phone!!

I am facing this problem of internal storage space, m using Sony Xperia C3. I have enough space on my SD card but its of no use as I can't transfer apps on it. Does any one have a solution to this.
Hello seems like almost everyone has the same problems as I do and I still don't have a solution on how to move stuff from internal to SD, it's frustrating because I've tried the 'move to sd' thing but it says "Insufficient storage" when I have more that 80gb of memory storage on my external. I'm also trying to find a way to make my external storage my default storage, so if anyone found a solution for that we'll be eternally grateful because Sony always lacks sufficient memory storage for their phones.
hi.. im using sony xperia xa ultra.. maybe this will help transfer your apps from internal to sd card... go to SETTINGS > STORAGE MEMORY > clik double dots : > ADVANCED > STORAGE > it will show device storage, click on internal storage after that click apps, click apps you want to move > click change > SD CARD ,. there you go your apps already installed to sd card.. hope it helps.. you can try it
I have a Sony Xperia XA Ultra and i have faced the same issue. So what you do it go to settings > Storage and memory > advanced > storage > internal storage > apps > (click on the app you want to move) > it will say where the file is saved and there will be a "change" button. Tap on that and choose to move to SD card.
Most of my apps moved but some such as Facebook, Snapchat, Skype dont move and give me the error message "could not move, not enough storage space". I have a 64 gb card and have 60.03 gb free. If somone can help me with this i would appreciate it. Im running android 6.0

I too have problems with transferring downloaded apps from internal to SD card, was using xperia C before and was easy to transfer the downloaded apps to the SD card as there was option to transfer, but now it is ridiculous, upgradable up to 200 GB tagline of Sony Xperia phones is an utter waste if we cannot transfer apps. I do agree that all docs, images and videos can be transferred, but what about apps??
what to do when the soni xperia z3 comes up with the message"unfortunately photos has stopped"
