It was sold through flipkart and the site itself is not working .
we tried from app as well as site
Else it would have been sold 10 to 15 min max.
basushaunak, 24 Jul 2014and you will continue to have wet dreams till you turn 100...sorry dont want you to share your past experience.
It's Kitkat. I received my xioami mi3 yesterday. I think xioami is having troubles with language. They are not able to fully describe their specs. I just discovered it supports ant+ too. And the company disclosed the gorilla 3 on Twitter. Lol. Xioami you need better or and marketing people. Until now. My xioami mi3 is like heaven. Buy it blindly.
cant understand, this excitement, considering its SAR value at 1.29 at the head.
They had 40,000 phones available. I had a talk with their Indian executive head. 10,000 for the priority day sale. And 40,000 for the main sale day. So get your sources right gsmarena!
Xiaomi shouldn't have chosen Flipkart for sales, flipkart are now delivering the product on time, they have no idea where the shipment is, they are also cancelling the order on their own in between delivery and calling back the Mi3 back. Now they are saying to purchase it back when sales open on 29th. There is long list of dissatisfied customers. Check Flipkart Facebook pages...
Anonymous, 24 Jul 2014yeah right. Good luck on that. LG is the nexy king of android. Sony and HTC will fall.and you will continue to have wet dreams till you turn 100...
I am one of the lucky purchasers for MI3
I do know about this phones from my friend in China and hence I know what to expect from the phone. And so there was buying confidence.
Now Indians are very cautious buyers (as of now) and Chinese electronics are not that popular in India. Till now India has been flooded by a lot of cheap Chinese phones which as most people say "good for a few months"
When I say cheap, it is really cheap, Imagine 5 years back a Dual sim touch screen smartphone from a doubtful chinese brand was available at less than 60$. If you search online, you do not find any information about the company (it is not a pre-requisite though) but anyway, most Indians are not aware that the most popular "Indian" brands are actually made in China. It seems Micromax Lava, Spice, Xolo etc... get their phones from China.
All said, Indian users would prefer a good phone and customer service. One of their worry about Chinese phone is "where can we get customer service" They expect a big signboard of the brand etc.
Anyway, most people who registered for it registered it based on "value for money" , good specifications, and really good price. But then I am sure many had doubts after they registered. Xiaomis batch selling is not new in China, but its definitely new in India. In India we are used to buying online and getting N nos of pieces. Or even going and buying from store, this is one of the few times where Indians have to purchase it from online store only.
Also a year back or so Umi mobile had done similar sales try, but since their logistics was a problem, I remember one incident when they gave "one phone to one lucky purchaser" now imagine, thousands of people who paid the full value of phone (13k +) and after a month there is no sign of delivery of phone and that was frustrating, but with Xiaomi/Flipkart it is not so, but I do expect Flipkart to be a little more transparent to its users so that the users have some confidence. Imagine the thought of logging on an hour after the sale and coming to know its out of stock. The question the people ask is... how can it go out of stock in an hour? It does.
I think the sales thought is good, but I do hope that the prospective buyers do not get tired of waiting week in and week out for getting hands on this phone and ultimately get tired and buy some other phone. That might be negative marketing. But that has worked for Xiaomi in the past and they would prefer to work that way. But if people are confident of the product, they would wait for it for a few weeks, also I see that Redmi will be offered soon, it might be a problem for Redmi sales because people in India might not buy redmi because they have purchased MI3 just few days ago..
Lets see how this plays. Xiaomi is a good manufacturer and after people use its phone, they might get strongly into the ever growing mid market segment pushing out the mid segment phones such as Samsung Grand and Sony Xperia C M and T models and also Moto G models
It is good market for Xiaomi to grow, maybe next time they better sell 50,000 phones a batch.
JP Kelly, 24 Jul 2014Xiaomi for sure will overtake Sammy to be No.1 Flagship smartphone maker. What did you have after dinner?
techknow, 24 Jul 2014Gr8 product, even better mktg, overhyped ui, pathetic supply. Dont take us for fools. Co showi... moreThe UI is not overhyped... Quite contrary a very good amount of people use miui on their phones. Visit any mobile tech site / forum and you will see.
But the funniest part is Flipkart was saying that it is based on Android 4.4 (Kit kat) in their booking page. Perhaps they don't know that it is based on miui 4.4 and not Kitkat!
That is really hillarious... And guess - some people can sue them if they want ;-)
They claimed to be serious about the Indian market but this stunt belies that. Feku, Feku Feku
Had the servers of Flipkart been any good, the sale period could have been lower. One can definitely attribute long selling period to failed servers. I got it in no less than 20 attempts.
techknow, 24 Jul 2014Gr8 product, even better mktg, overhyped ui, pathetic supply. Dont take us for fools. Co showi... moreJust dont think that company is showing attitude. To keep price low, they have follow one or other tactics. As of now they are not in league of big manufactures. So if they build hell lot of stock, well they will face same fate as of ATARI gaming company. What they are trying is put cost down and getting mouth publicity..
i booked my Mi 3 under 40 minutes... and i even got a conformation message and email. But, the next day they cancelled my order saying due to confusion caused by bulk order your order got cancelled. Man!! that is really bad customer service from flipkart and i hope this won't happen the next time.
Xiaomi does have spyware, which synchronize with China Servers even it is rooted or using different firmware. You can google it
its flipkart website which crashed !! they could have sold that much phone in just 5minutes
