J, 06 Aug 20141080P on a screen like that stupid kill offAgreed, 1080p would also up the battery drainage. To me, one the big pros of the compact: the smaller screen translates to nearly unparalleled battery life. It may not have the ppi as its big brother but it is still stellar imo. Just to give an idea, as I type I have 97% charge and estimated 1 day and 22 hours left!
Anonymous, 31 Jul 2014The good: Sony is showing renewed commitment to the compact line after failing to issue a Z2 c... moreSome have asked why 64 bit is needed. The same reason you have it on desktops, so you can have more than 4gb of ram. My Z1c has 2gb. This Z3c will have 3gb. I can imagine the Z5c will have a whopping 8gb. That would be awesome! As I use my phone for more and more productivity tasks, I want it powered like my desktop.
As for wireless charging, I got the magnetic dock for my Z1c and it is great. I suppose wireless would be an upgrade but not by much. One of the great things about the compact form factor is the smaller screen means great battery life. So docking my phone at night when I'm asleep is plenty :-)
Oh I see.. it doesn't like my "less than" sign.
....off every other less-than-5" phone around.. wireless charging would be the perfect way to set Sony miles ahead. Though the magnetic charging is already a pretty good start.
trev, 01 Aug 2014wireless charging pleaseDitto, this is the only thing that would make me see a convincing reason to upgrade from my Z1C any time soon. It already knocks the balls off every other

Atakan, 31 Jul 2014Yes, My Nokia N95 is still working. I changed battery and microphone only one time. There was ... moreMate hang on to it. They are super phones. Built to last eternity. I had one to, my mistake was letting my mum use it. She dropped it in toilet. Was kicking myself. You could have a disco in your living room with them speakers.
Dave Granger, 01 Aug 2014Please explain why the CPU needs to be 64 bit. Because Apple said so?because Android phones are approaching the 32-bit address space barrier (4gb), and processor architecture migration has to start ahead of time for a smooth transition to 64-bit.
probably not a sony xperia z3 yet, this is the upcoming windows phone by sony...
hope for next sony compact generation it is smallest screen and thin with complect hi end specs, waterprof for long time, 4 inch screen and dual sim thats im looking for,
Anonymous, 31 Jul 2014Lucky guy my innov8 still working too i changed the mic too and the flex cable other than that everything is top notched (^^)
The good: Sony is showing renewed commitment to the compact line after failing to issue a Z2 compact.
The bad: Not enough of an upgrade over my current Z1c. My minimum specs for my next phone is a 64 bit SoC. Guess I gotta wait for a z4 compact unless they only come in odd flavors.
Other comments: My Z1c is truly awesome. No lags whatsoever. And Sony just pushed 4.4.4. My second upgrade since it came with 4.4.1. As far as full HD goes, I am not concerned because the 342 ppi is great. The only other thing I am hoping for is a better camera.
