Billydf, 31 Jul 2014dude, can you give me one smartphone company that didn't have problem with their product? 100%... moreYes, My Nokia N95 is still working. I changed battery and microphone only one time. There was no other problem for 7 years.
Billydf, 31 Jul 2014dude, can you give me one smartphone company that didn't have problem with their product? 100%... moreThere are no phones that do not have issues... everyphone from every brand will have issues. I work in a phone tech support call centre and there is no phone the company has sold which hasent had issues in regards to brand wise. The reasoning for this is that yes, the manufacturing line may make the same handset the same way, but there are always impurities in each device. You just have to a get a phone you like, and make sure you run diagnostics on it every month or so to make sure the phone is running at optimal levels.. If you dont want anything to go wrong with the phone dont install any 3rd party apps and only use it for calls and text messages. This is reduce the amount of 3rd party content and additional coding on the phone to run other things.
Just take care of your device and nothing will happen.
(The above information abnout 3rd party apps is a bit strict but if you want a working phone just take care of it, and you will not have any issues)
Its just luck of the draw mate...
Many thanks - SW Tech Support.

Anonymous, 31 Jul 2014I really hope that all these rumors are wrong and there will be better Z3 than the one rumored... moreWhat the... You are looking to buy an XXL phablet but chose to post it here, in a Compact thread?? You seem to be very much lost, such serious confusion can be a sign of an acute medical condition, you better have a checkup in ER.
I really hope that all these rumors are wrong and there will be better Z3 than the one rumored and also a Z ultra 2. if not then i will go get z ultra but i won't know which one to get the Timescape one or the GPE one!!!
Anonymous, 30 Jul 2014I would buy any phone on any OS from any manufacturer if it had a full aside out qwerty. Swype... morePhysical keyboard cases can be found, i remember seeing a nice one for Galaxy S4, didnt add too much to the total size. Hopefully there are cases like that also for decent phones, ie not Galaxy.
Anonymous, 31 Jul 2014Never tried the e7 but owned the n97 and n900 and they both had great keyboards. Thought the n... moreN900 had too cramped keyboard, but it was ok since the rest of the phone was mostly perfect. N97 had ok KEYS, but the keyboard as a whole was the biggest crap ever made, the super hard spring and the insane force required to open it was outright dangerous if you didnt know how violently it would open. NO, the greatest keyboards was on Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro, and Mini Pro as well, Nokia has no place in the hall of fame for qwerty keyboards.
Swordylove, 31 Jul 20144.6" is not compact/mini enough -.- What's next? 4.9" Z4 compact? I give up.Agree but i really wanted Full HD and if this is the smallest they can come up with then ok. I dont know how good a 4.3 inch Full HD would have been and i tend to find the display of my BB Z10 (4.2", 1280x768 15:9, 355 ppi) a little too small for webbrowsing but its actually hard to say whats the biggest problem, the lowish 355 ppi is probably a bigger problem but i dont know how good it would have been if FHD, maybe good enough but most likely the small size would have been a more significant problem then.
I think we need a balance of both ppi and size, and 4.5 to 4.6 seems reasonable, after all the HTC One M7 was 4.7 inch and no doubt it was better for webbrowsing than for example Note 2 with its big low res display, the M7 had much smaller display area but more than made up for it with the higher ppi, even very tiny fonts would look great and no need to zoom in to improve readability. Z3C at 4.6 isnt perfect but offers a good tradeoff. I think its only around 130mm long total, its acceptable, much better than the horrible length of iPhone 6 (would choose ip6 over Z3C if it was a tad shorter)
xtess3ractx, 31 Jul 2014*SIGH* Mini flagship, not really when you take away the iR Blaster. I was all over this until ... moreLOL... you're complaining about the IR blaster??? for real?? then buy a remote..
*SIGH* Mini flagship, not really when you take away the iR Blaster. I was all over this until upon closer investigation no transmitter in sight. Damn Sony why must you always come up short some where. Also those top and bottom bezels still look pretty substantial. If they really wanted to please they would have shrunk down the bezels to G3 percentages.
4.6" is not compact/mini enough -.- What's next? 4.9" Z4 compact? I give up.
Suvham N8, 30 Jul 2014True that! Slide out qwerty is awesome man. I used my friend's E7 for a week as he was getting... moreNever tried the e7 but owned the n97 and n900 and they both had great keyboards. Thought the n97's keyboard was a bit better but wasn't a great device in general
I hope the Z3 compact is just 4.5" FHD with iR blaster and same dimensions of Z1 compact.
Anonymous, 30 Jul 2014Yes I'm waiting for the iphone 6 and z3/z3 compact.
I'm not sure if the Samsung galaxy alpha ... moreGalaxy Alpha will not be a high end phone, correct. But if it's meant to compete with that fruit company's phone then there's no point releasing a high end phone either.
For me, initially I liked the idea of Alpha too, nice compact phone, but then I remember it will run on TouchWiz, good bye.
West, 30 Jul 2014this is a phone for people who prefer compact but powerful phones. in fact, even 4.5"+ is... moreDude I know, I know, believe me I am one of those persons who just hates the stupid big screen phone game of nowadays! No one cares if a device could be used comfortably with one hand or not.
Buying the Moto X was one of those reasons for me, it's just a perfectly sized phone for me, and it has a 4.7" display, so I'm quite sure if Sony can cut the bezels more then fitting a 4.8 or 4.9" display is quite possible. But I'm quite confident that they won't do that.
I still appreciate what Sony is doing here though, they are the first who didn't dumb down specifications for normal sized phones, and that is a respect deserving factor.
