Having been burned a couple of times with phones that after 18 months have too little RAM and storage, I'm not interested in a 2/16GB combination, especially with the Kitkat memory handling changes.

They need to release this as 3/32GB or they can forget it. HD is fine.

No longer impressed with Samsung brand name. They are really overpriced products (atleast in India). Comparing price to benefit/specification ratio of Samsung products with other popular brands, as an end-user I feel its time to rethink about purchasing anymore of Samsung products.

That SoC is gonna fly at 1080p. This will be a beast. Snapdragon 805 at 1080p means power to spare. You'll get iPhone 5s level of gaming performance at full HD.

This phone is more future proof than any other. The reason of not updating the s3 was not actually RAM, but was the old cortex a9 CPU and slower ( not lower) RAM which isn't so stable at 4.4 kit kat .

Note 2 also has 2 go ram but that doesn't mean it'll be supported as long as s5. Believe me, note 2 won't get android l. But s5 will be supported to much higher versions.

Actually the now important factor is the RAM speed and frequency. It tells us how fast the RAM is. Snapdragon 805 had a higher speed ram compared to the snapdragon 801 and hence this device will have a better RAM performance compared to the 3GB RAM on one plus one and other snapdragon 801 devices.

This device is seriously future proof due to the insane power. Just wait for the reviews. It'll have a much better battery life and performance compared to THE QHD VERSION.

What??? ChangTsung aka Samsung kidding us!!!
Firstly S5 case in Europe and now this.Samsung why???

I was one of early Samsung Users (started with S1)
and from generation to generation they made stap forwards.

And then Knox/Counter/Sim Region Lock comes. things that no usual user needs!!! Samsung never asked and heared, what the customer/user wants...

Bloatware everywhere (with an update they`re back!), rooting and losing warranty, lags on stock rom/launcher, myMagazin copied from HTCs Blinkfeed (bad copy in my eyes), late updates (Android) and
sometimes (speaking of tablets) no Updates....

And until end of 2013 I knew all their phones, but I am now at a point, where I can`t keep all released phones in my head!
I feel like they release 5 phones a week!
Maybe they lose by themselve overview?!?!

Step by step users realize the step backwards!

In past I recommended samsungs phones, but since QT2 2014 I suggest friends and family HTC,Sony,LG or Apple (which I personally don`t like because of restrictions).

Samsung will destroy themselve, because of ignoring the rom developer scene, usual customers and an overblown Touchwiz.

!!! Chang Tsung lose !!!

Aaahh, Samsung cutting corners even on flagship devices again. This won't bring them back on the growth path any time soon. Only Apple can get away with stuff like this, because Apple never bothers to give their users real numbers (it is always "retina" instead of number of pixels and "twice as fast" instead of clock speed, etc.) and because their users will struggle to understand numbers anyway. In comes Xiaomi and OnePlus, who actually have 3GB RAM on their flagships. Since Samsung made fun of the S3 owners by not upgrading to KitKat due to low RAM, nobody should be buying 2GB phones in 2014.

These are still 28nm modems. The real big gains will come when 20nm and below modems on-die are launched sometime this year end or more realistically next year

That's a wise and practical decision by Samsung. QHD on a 5.2" display is MEANINGLESS.

LG, nice try.

Since the Adreno 420 GPU will only be powering a full HD panel instead of a QHD panel this device might actually turn out to be a very future proof phone (( games wise speaking )) as it will have a lot of power to spare even if the cores were underclocked , imagine getting this and utilizing it for a regular LTE network how much battery life can you save (( if this thing is designed for LTA-A then lower LTE speeds should consume less energy "please correct me if am wrong" )) .
