This was my third trial and this time i got it. It is not region based or anythig. It is first come firts serve. Initially i also thought how could it sell out in 1 second when an online transaction needs ceratin time to complete. But how they have done is the moment you click it gets added to cart, and that is what they count. So once 15000 clicks comes and gets added to cart, It is sold out. Payment and all i can do till tomorrow end of day and confirm order. So now tell me now if there are 1 lakh people ready to click, how much time does first 15000 clicks take to realize, few seconds , that is what happens.. Rest of the transaction you can complete after sometime. The sale goes like this. It is not fake or anything , but i dont know whether it is the best way to do it. But in a way, that is one of the choice they have rather taking customers till some time and then saying out of stock.
Anonymous, 05 Aug 2014Kinda curious how it's sold out in 2 secs cos typing in the delivery info and credit card info... moreDid you read the article?
"... and had more than 150,000 registrations before the start of the trade."
Flipkart couldnt handle the situation. Its server kept on crashing.Extremely poor from flipkart.I know because I bought this phone today.I took me about 2 hours to make payment because the site was crashing.I am wondering why this flipkart couldn't make it right even in the third time.It crashed on all situations.
AnonD-59657, 05 Aug 2014For sure Xiaomi is Sammy and Apple killer. It won't be Apple killer, probably slice something off but not much. Samsung should be more worried.
For sure Xiaomi is Sammy and Apple killer.
Kinda curious how it's sold out in 2 secs cos typing in the delivery info and credit card info i'm sure takes more than 2 secs. Heck, even clicking on 2 buttons and waiting for pages to load in between takes more than 2 secs.
if Xiaomi is posting such stats then they should also clear the way they have calculated these 2 seconds, m sure its the duration where in people have added the phone in their cart but not completed the sale, i have also the baught the phone and it took me 20 minutes to complete the sale and 2 card swipes (ofcourse i got my money back on one card)....
It will become the 1st smartphone maker soon.
This means clearly one thing - India is clearly not after brand names. Expectation is for good quality & reliable product which can provide you value for the money paid. Who ever can provide it, they have the edge.
That's great!..
any decent company can do this with limited stock and so much hype but i do think their register formula is flawed, people whoregistered first should should got prefrence
