MHanz, 08 Aug 2014A design shrink of this small magnitude isn't going to make the Z3 flagship worthwhile for any... moreWell I think a lot of users have been awaiting the Z3compact!
It is the first FHD phone with 3GB less than 65mm wide
(the other one shown is due to a bug in the data on that one, the display alone is over 80mm)
Can't hardly wait to see this info confirmed....
A design shrink of this small magnitude isn't going to make the Z3 flagship worthwhile for anyone but fanboys. They better have something more to offer. The Z2 is already a decent upgrade over the Z1.
Anonymous, 08 Aug 2014Display/screen ratios:
Z3 Compact: 70.8%
Sony should take a look at what they do in another Japanese company: Sharp
Look at the 303SH
...And yes it is water resistant...
Though the 303SH is 9.9mm, and the Z3c is 9.2mm
Anonymous, 08 Aug 2014LG G3-A is better than this. 5.2" screen =141mm tall, 70mm wide. 5mm-9.8mm thick Yeah the battery weakling g3.

THNK YOU, for the keeping the compact size, for the new Z3 Compact phone. It's a rally bad trend, that phones getting bigger, and bigger, nice to see, ther is at least ONE brand, who can understand the meaning of words. I thing, really ridiculous to call a 5 inches phone "mini", but your Z1 an Z3 phone is perfect in size, and in name (you called them compact, not mini).
So thank you again.
I hope this year you will bring a cool midrange phone in this size category too!
Except the thickness, it's not really an update. I wonder what will happen to the battery.
Ever heard of scaling? Compute z3 compacts unknown thickness from the ratio of the images to the dimensions that you do know! Sheesh! Come back @Evleaks!!
TruckStop, 08 Aug 2014Z3 Compact, come to daddy.YES. This sounds like my next phone too... :-D
Z3 compact. Same height and width as its predecessor and a bigger 4.6" screen. The z1 compact had a 4.3". That would be a feat.
I would love a Z3 compact running Android L and hanging around on sublevel.net
