I still find the occasional one that hasn't died yet...
It's a lot like HP they went big and they've gone low since a few years back due to quality of the computers. I have an HP from 2004 that still runs, mind you it's nearly dead but it still runs.

Motorola faced huge losses before that for 1 and a half years..
From the time Google acquired Motorola.. new phones with whole new strategies (moto X. moto G. moto E) were launched.. which got them the profits..
The only reason this post says "Motorola doubles" is because Google planned to operate Motorola as an independent company.
Yes, Motorola Mobility Trademark will become Lenovo own but mission and vision for Motorola Mobility is still Google Mission and Vision for Motorola Mobility; Google want Motorola Mobility as main player in Android Ecosystem. So not absolutely all Motorola Mobility sale to Lenovo, just trademark. Like use Droid Trademark from Lucas Film; Verizon Wireless buy Droid Trademark from Lucas Film.
wait_what, 12 Aug 2014Why is it good for them? What patents?Moto has or rather had a lot of patents. Sure Google couldn't win lawsuits but they dont have to pay the fees either. All Bluetooth devices have to pay moto one way or the other. All barcode scanners you see, Motorola owns the patents. Motorola Mobility was sold to Google. Not everything. A company as big as them doesn't just vanish. Remember IBM? You don't see their pcs anymore but the company is still alive and kicking.

It's added on aluminium to increase strength, with steel again to increase strength but it's never more than a slight fraction. The alloy rims on cars have steel with a bit of nickel a lil of copper a lil of magnesium and zinc too...

Like the high end specs this market may become saturated or even skipped altogether by those wanting higher specs
IDK what model Lenovo makes in China or the prices they charge
The Moto E and Moto G are still "expensive/ when compared to Xiaomi and the Moto X is not a real upgrade for anyone who already has a Dual Core phone
I do hope that Motorola / Lenovo offer more middle to middle/ high end phones.
I just discovered that Huawei have handset in the UK , but these stil cone with a UK price tag
When one of these companies start offering 13Mp Quad Core phones for $450 sales will go Galactic until then....
In india only source of moto is online retailer flipkart, & flipkart said that it sold 1 million moto g.

If only Google had waited to sell, they would've made even more of a killing from Lenovo
motorola's moto x and later on moto g helped motorola to sustain in the arena.
i liked both the phones i used i.e. moto g and droid ultra. Hope in future the moto will give us quality products. moto is old and respected company- which gave us useful features like touchless control and active display.
It think google drops motorola because this may create partiality between Google owned motorola and others manufacturers while Google will always want to be equal for all manufacturer.
Rather then saying that Google can't handle Motorola

Anonymous, 12 Aug 2014Great phones, great prices. Hardly a surprise. Well done Moto!Moto G2 or whatever it will be called will be twice as expensive than Moto G. So it won't be a great price.
They should ditch the current 5" embarrasement and bring out Moto X internationally (maybe with updated camera and Snap801).
