AnonD-281138, 15 Aug 2014Whether Gorilla Glass or Sapphire Glass, I'm still going to buy iPhone 6 and no one will stop ... moreThis is another expose by Gsmarena proving...
"A lie isn't a lie until someone else knows the truth"
On 09/09/2014 the Apple presentation will have to answer this. The iPhone5S has 4" DISPLAY and uses a 1560mAh battery, the increase in DISPLAY to 4.7" represents a 38% increase.
The battery in going to 1800mAh is only 15% so under half
Apple has claimed the "high ground" etc using METAL and being a premium product, so the 4.7" and 5.5" price being 'officially' leaked at $850 & $1012, so despite that exorbitant price it appears that you are NOT get Sapphire coating but Sapphire coating LITE, but consumers are being charged the FULL amount.
I have heard of especially Samsung using a lower grade of material in making their flagship phones, so afaik PREMIUM PLASTIC is used throughout .
It should not have come as a surprise that this has happened, and despite any defense put forward, it is deliberately misleading as REGULAR, Sapphire follows an ESTABLISHED standard, "LITE" does not and is not the same specification as REGULAR. Eg Retina Display 330 PPI, eg 297 PPI may look like Retina Display to the naked eye but is not
iPhone6 user will no doubt state this as another advantage, but need to consider this
"Anyone who can't tell a fake doesn't deserve the real thing"
It is NOT Sapphire Coating as you were misled to believe.
AnonD-281138, 15 Aug 2014Whether Gorilla Glass or Sapphire Glass, I'm still going to buy iPhone 6 and no one will stop ... moreWow you must be really rich, spending so much money for a phone that has mid-range specs.
Expensive price tag, cheap hardware. New Apple motto.
so scratch proof but not shatter proof?
They should also improve the features of their ios
Retina screen on my iphone 5s is far better than super amoled and lcd.
AnonD-62700, 15 Aug 2014I'm an apple fanboy but personally think that gorilla glass is more harder & more durable ... moreI've had my 5 for 9 months now and the touch id still looks and works perfectly.
It all comes down to how you take care of your mobiles. Gorilla glass or sapphire are both capable of scratching.
The operative word is "scratch resistant".... Not "scratch proof".
Even with the cheaper innovation, I doubt Apple will make the phones cheaper. If anything the new Iphone will be more expensive. Consumers always pays for profit margin greed.
Good.. But I don't like to buy product name for high price.. There are lots of top range phones to cheap prices.. Those are not so bad as apple fan boys talking..There's only small differences..also the experience is not so different .. But if you're a american people you must try to buy a apple product every time..
Whether Gorilla Glass or Sapphire Glass, I'm still going to buy iPhone 6 and no one will stop me. And I'm going to sell my iPhone 5S and the money that I can get I will buy this new iPhone 6 and add a little more money.
I'm sure the battery life is better than my iPhone 5S now and looking forward to have you soon iPhone 6.
I'm an apple fanboy but personally think that gorilla glass is more harder & more durable than the sapphire.
For example see the glass used in the Touch ID of iPhone 5s. After 4-5 months of usage it's full of scratches. I don't know what made apple to go for sapphire.
Seems like a neat way to do the sapphire display.
Doesn't seem to be any particular downside.
Why is the iphone 6 the most anticipated? Because of the increase in size? Oems are hard at work to bring better and new specs each and every time, but now people are anticipating a phone bc it will have a larger screen? Will it make any difference? As for sapphire, a lot of companies use it. But when apple use it, you say they are copying apple.. As for their os, they're copying android to be more like android, but you're here to say that apple doesn't copy it innovates.. Seriously? They aren't gaining market share and people tend to go for android. Not just for the screen size.. For the specs and quality.. Iphones quality isn't as good as you think.. A lot of iphones come with defects but no one ever addresses that. In the us, they don't argue as they are able to replace it even if it came with the smallest unnoticeable defect. Other places not. Check the forums and see for yourself how well built is the iphone. Anticipating much? At least, for this overpriced product, they can make it dust resistant but no.. Dust isnt an issue.. I won't buy a 1000$ to get dust under my screen. It's not even worth the specs.

cheap glass inside with a sapphire coating is same as cheap girl in an expensive cloth.

Cough, ahem Samsu, ahem.
Meaning that once you scratch or damage for first time on some spot of the screen, the next scratches on same spot would go deeper and really damage the phone.
As I say, always wear screen protector or glass screen protector on your smartphone

"path of least resistance, and least cost"? Did you just mention Apple path with "at least cost"? REALLY? Ahahahaha.... Nice joke guys!
Its apple . So a higher cost is always expected, as they always try to milk their customers of their money
