I would say Samsung should stay on there own. Getting Nokia on the run with them would not be so great, but Windows has been trying there luck with most companies to release Windows handsets. Windows 8.1 was such a nice release for Nokia but...STILL TERRABLE phones to work on. Very un-user friendlty. I work for an cellphone company and Nokia just does not sell at all...and selling one means a huge huge trainging session.
If Samsung redesigns Windows on there phones it might be something to look at. But that would never happen.
Im not a big fan of nokia now...but the will get there with windows.
Rather go back to the 3310 lol....best phone ever !

How could MS "don't let Samsung to use Window"????
Or MS and Nokia t... moreDude Samsung is no saint! Microsoft buying Nokia cell phone division doesn't mean Nokia and Microsoft have merged into one company (Samsung logic) LOL. Both companies are still independent. Microsoft has its own patents and Microsoft has licensed Nokia's patents for 10 years. Nokia still own those patent of theirs. Even before Microsoft had Nokia android phone manufacturer has to pay $15-$30 on every android device. Even the Chinese government has validated that android violates 300 of MICROSOFT'S patents. Samsung cant stop paying for those patents. those patents are not included in Nokia-Samsung cross licensing agreement. Samsung could stop paying only if only Nokia had bought Microsoft ...event which never took place :D
PS: Nokia cant license Microsoft patents to anyone since they don't own Microsoft

Or MS and Nokia t... moreJust like apple doesn't let Samsung use it patents except FRAND. you live in an imaginary world. Samsung always sues Apple on patents which come under FRAND. That is why they dont win. Patent which come under FRAND are obligatory because they are industrial standards. even after cross licensing Samsung still having to pay Microsoft. Why? Is Microsoft paying Samsung anything?
A Samsung Note 4 or a Samsung S6 running Windows Phone, that would be really interesting!
Saurav Mishra, 19 Aug 2014How much you know about MS?More than you know about Microsoft. Almost 80% PC use microsoft OS, word, powerpoint, excel, communicator, lync, outlook n list goes on. Correct your facts n thn type.

By the way MS and Nokia use Samsung patents. Even both have cross-licence for many of them.
This started , because MS wanted to invalidate the Nokia-Samsung cross-licence , and ask Samsung to start to pay them the Nokia's patents, because they got Nokia, and have already cross-licence with Samsung.
NO ONE TECH MEDIA explained what was the problem at first place. Just to bashing Samsung, and to save the MS a$$.
The problem was that Nokia and Samsung had cross-licensing , that they can use each others patent for free. When MS swallow Nokia, because MS also have such cross-licensing , MS started to ask Samsung to pay Nokia's patents to them.

Dumb. Samsung could've easily won the lawsuit, especially after the new Alice ruling that's poised to invalidate MOST of Microsoft's patents. Too bad Samsung and nobody else has the guts to stand up to them. Barnes & Noble did, and they almost won, but Microsoft paid them a settlement. And that was before the Alice ruling. It just shows how weak Microsoft's patents are.
But whatever, now that Google knows which patents Microsoft is forcing OEMs to pay for, they can get around them in the next versions of Android, and make most of them irrelevant anyway.
Saurav Mishra, 19 Aug 2014MS knows that he is nothing against SamsungDude if Microsoft don't allow Windows OS on Samsung laptops Samsung laptops will fail (already failed thou). And if Microsoft/Nokia don't allow the use of their patents then Samsung might have to close down their mobile division. their devices will only be allowed to use frand patents. Then Samsung can compete with Firefox OS :D cause they will get sued by Microsoft, Nokia and Apple :P Google wont get involved since it endangers androids future. it's not their fight. even LG has issues with Samsung.
PS: Microsoft and Nokia have separate patent portfolio. its not combined
Saurav Mishra, 19 Aug 2014MS knows that he is nothing against SamsungDude, are you out of your mind. Learn your facts about Microsoft before writing it. You can say Microsoft mobile bt cnt say Microsoft.
AnonD-6193, 19 Aug 2014MS should let Samsung to customize Windows interface and to some level of OS customization so ... moreExactly. Make these new changes new horizons by extending their ATIV models. Especially with dual boot models like booting WP 8.1 and kitkat 4.4.4 same like ATIV Q. Samsung the super king :)
MS should let Samsung to customize Windows interface and to some level of OS customization so that they can really differentiate in Windows Market
End Result = A New Fork of OS with windows core
